The second game between the Golden State Warriors and the Minnesota Timberwolves is knocking at the door. But the Dubs have their fears heading into Thursday’s matchday. You see, Stephen Curry’s hamstring injury will keep him away from the action. However, Jimmy Butler and his ‘Budderd’ will be there on the floor. But reporters spotted Draymond Green in an odd situation at Target Center on Thursday’s shoot-around.
Locked in. Focused. Maybe even a little petty. Draymond Green just delivered a practice moment that speaks louder than any pregame interview. While working on his rebounding and three-point shooting before Game 2, Green had someone literally drape a Rudy Gobert jersey on his back. Not on the floor. Not nearby. On his back.

Draymond Green’s workout with a Gobert jersey on his back said it all. This was not just a warm-up; it was a message. Fans online laughed and reacted fast. But for those who know the NBA, it made sense. Green and Gobert have a history. Things took a wild turn in 2023 when Draymond Green locked Rudy Gobert in a headlock during an on-court scuffle.
The incident earned him a suspension and headlines. Since then, the 2017 Defensive Player of the Year claims he has grown. “I’ve grown so much as a human being since that moment,” he said. But not everyone is ready to buy that just yet. His close friend, Baron Davis, has already sounded the alarm. One more slip, one more headlock, and the consequences could be far worse.
Meanwhile, the Wolves’ head coach, Chris Finch, expressed frustration over the Golden State Warriors’ physical style of play in Game 1 on Tuesday. Looks like the 55-year-old might want Adam Silver’s help in this matter.

Is Draymond Green's Gobert jersey stunt a genius mind game or just plain disrespectful?

Chris Finch wasn’t happy with the Warriors’ physical game a day before Draymond Green’s odd move
Chris Finch has had it. The Timberwolves coach called out the rising physicality in the playoffs after they lost Game 1 to the Warriors, saying it’s “gone way too far.” He doubled down at practice. He hinted at Golden State’s tactics and took a shot at the officiating. If things stay rough, the Wolves might just rough it back.
“On defensive rebounding, [the Warriors] do a lot of fouling, holding, shoving, pushing and tackling Rudy [Gobert],” Finch told reporters at practice. “That’s clear. We sent a bunch of those clips in to the league. In fact, I’m not sure I know another player in the league with Rudy’s pedigree that is allowed to be physically beaten on the way he is. And so we gotta address that one way or another.”

Finch also pointed to Brandin Podziemski’s black eye as proof of a physical battle gone wild. He claimed Gobert got unfairly punished for simply shedding contact. Then he warned the Wolves might take matters into their own hands. “They look like pulling guards and linemen out there, just taking shots at Rudy,” he said.

Game 2 is not just about basketball anymore. Tension simmers. Egos clash. Old grudges flare. Draymond Green is already in battle mode, and Rudy Gobert is feeling the weight of every push. And Chris Finch wants the league’s eyes wide open. As the drama builds, this series is no longer just physical. It is personal. And it is far from over.
