Is the dream over? Anthony Edwards and the Minnesota Timberwolves are down 0-2 in the Western Conference Finals. A little deja vu there. While Luka Doncic and Co. held them down last season, the 2025 MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and his team, the top-seeded Oklahoma City Thunder, look every bit poised to repeat the record this campaign. It is going to be a mammoth task for the Wolves to bounce back. But if anyone’s up for the challenge, it’s Ant-Man.
“Jordanesque,” was the term Stephen A. Smith used. But the 23-year-old seems to be having the worst luck with his ankle. He has managed to roll it in every Playoff series this season. So heading into the all-important Game 3, there are sure concerns around Ant’s fitness. But well, here’s a look at the Wolves’ injury report to ease that.

Minnesota Timberwolves Injury Report – Will Anthony Edwards play tonight?
Anthony Edwards rolled his ankle in Game 1 of this series, forcing him to head back into the locker room briefly. However, it didn’t take him long to come back out to help his team. What’s impressive is that Ant didn’t seem affected by the injury once he returned. Nor did the Timberwolves put him on the injury report for the next game in which he dropped 32 points, albeit in a losing effort.
But hustles like those are why the Timberwolves need Ant. So, you T-Wolves fans will be glad to know that there are 0 fresh reports of Ant getting injured. And his absence from the T-Wolves injury report can only mean one thing. Anthony Edwards is AVAILABLE for Game 3 against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Another trend continues heading into this game – the one where the Timberwolves submit a clean injury report. Minnesota has been really lucky in this postseason, as they’ve avoided injuries to all of their biggest stars as well as their role players. With no injuries to worry about, can Chris Finch come up with the right game plan to get one back in this series? Let’s see what some of the things he needs to look out for are.

Minnesota need to treat Game 3 against the Thunder like it’s a Game 7
You see, the Wolves are running out of time. Down 0-2 in the West finals, they’ve got to treat Game 3 like it’s do-or-die. Every possession matters, every play counts—no more blinking. They’ve got to come out with that Game 7 energy right from tip-off and set the tone in Minneapolis.
Now, OKC’s been razor-sharp. They closed out Game 1 with a 114–88 run and followed up with a 118–103 win in Game 2. Shai’s been on fire, dropping 34.5 points and dishing 8.5 assists per outing. Jalen Williams and Chet Holmgren have carried their weight, too, so Minnesota needs to clamp down on those open looks and turnovers.
What’s your perspective on:
Can Anthony Edwards channel his 'Jordanesque' spirit to save the Timberwolves' season against OKC?

All in all, Anthony Edwards has to find his groove. He’s at 25 points, and that’s great. But shooting at just 43.6 percent overall and 23.5 percent from deep won’t cut it against OKC. Julius Randle, Jaden McDaniels, and Nickeil Alexander-Walker have also chipped in, but they need consistency. Randle especially has to stay on the floor in crunch time and show the same spirit he showed against the Dubs in the semi-finals.

What Anthony Edwards vouches for? “We’ve got to be more aggressive, take what the defense gives us but also impose our game on them.” You see, the Thunder thrive on making you uncomfortable, forcing long possessions, inefficient shots, and turnovers. Coach Daigneault doesn’t care if those possessions end with a basket or a foul; he just wants chaos for the Wolves. So Minnesota’s got to be smarter, cleaner, and hungrier. Treat this like Game 7, or their season ends.
