Golden State Warriors Injury Report – Will Jimmy Butler play in Game 1 against the T-Wolves?

After a nasty fall in Game 2, Jimmy Butler suffered a pelvic contusion. This injury caused him to miss the next game, where the Dubs lost to the Rockets. So there’s no two ways about it – Jimmy is indispensable for the Warriors’ success in the postseason. So what’s his status ahead of Game 1 against the T-Wolves?

Well, members of Dub Nation will be delighted to learn that Jimmy Butler is off the injury report against Minnesota in the first game. That means he’s AVAILABLE for Steve Kerr to select ahead of their upcoming game. But a fellow star and arguably the Dubs’ most important player finds himself on the injury report.

You might’ve guessed it already, and you’re probably panicking. But you can calm down. Steph Curry may be on the injury report for the Dubs’ upcoming game, but he’s listed as AVAILABLE. The only caveat is that he’ll play with a splint on his right thumb like he did against the Houston Rockets.

Additionally, Gary Payton II has also made his way onto the Dubs’ injury report. He missed Game 7 against the Rockets due to an undisclosed illness. And it seems this illness might prevent him from kicking off the series against the Timberwolves. He remains QUESTIONABLE to appear in this upcoming game. And whether he plays will be a game-time decision for him and Steve Kerr.

So, without that out of the way, let’s see how the Dubs may lineup against the Timberwolves tonight.

The Dubs are fresh off a dominant Game 7 against the Rockets. Whereas, the Timberwolves got a week’s rest after dominating LeBron James and Luka Doncic in their series. This makes for an extremely interesting matchup. And Game 1 will set the tone for the entire series. So both teams will be itching to beat the other and gain the upper hand in this series.

But who’ll come out on top tonight? Will it be the fresher team? Or will it be the team that had to grind their way through the first round? Let us know what you think!
