Just when it seemed like the Knicks were about to be driven to the point of no return, they mounted an unbelievable 20-point comeback. A large thanks is owed to Karl-Anthony Towns, who scored 24 points, becoming the 2nd Knick ever to record 20+ points in a fourth quarter.

New York Knicks Injury Report – Will Karl-Anthony Towns play tonight?

Karl-Anthony Towns went off in Game 3 against the Pacers. Not in the whole game, though. No, KAT saved his heroics for the final quarter, single-handedly matching Indiana’s count. It was a performance Knicks fans will remember for a long time to come as he thrust the dagger into the Pacers to seal the Knicks’ victory in Game 3.

That said, the Pacers’ report reveals that they weren’t as lucky. Aaron Nesmith, who headed to the locker room before returning (due to an ankle injury), is listed as QUESTIONABLE for this game, suggesting that the injury could be more serious than expected. He is joined by Isaiah Jackson, who’s still recovering from having his Achilles tendon repaired.

The Pacers jumped out to a 20-point lead in Game 3, and suddenly, it looked like Indiana might run away with the series. But the Knicks have a special knack for comebacks this postseason. They’ve now erased 20-point deficits three times on the road this playoffs, also recording the most 20-point comebacks since 1998. So, they simply never ever panic, and they never, ever give up.

Karl-Anthony Towns exploded for 20 of his 24 points in the fourth quarter. He hauled in fifteen rebounds, too. And Jalen Brunson delivered his own fireworks with 23 points. Both stars showed why they’re willing to fight from way behind. It was vintage Knicks grit and unbreakable spirit, electric energy. Coach Tom Thibodeau shrugged, noting, “In playoff basketball, no lead is safe.” He’s right. A rapid flurry of threes and the quick pace of play let deficits disappear in a flash.
