The most awaited Western Conference Finals are here! Two teams hoping to win their maiden NBA title will go blow-for-blow tonight, as the Minnesota Timberwolves take on the Oklahoma City Thunder. Both teams have been riding all-time highs as they enter tonight’s game. Anthony Edwards and Co., more so. That’s because they’ve already sent packing two future Hall-of-Famers, Stephen Curry and LeBron James.
Now, they are eyeing to take down the first-seeded OKC to claim the West as their own. But it’s not just the fans, it seems the players are more hyped up than anyone else.
Why? Well, Minnesota’s main man, Anthony Edwards, has sent out a cryptic message on X just hours before the series opener. “DIFM2,” Edwards tweeted just an hour ago. This has left Minnesota fans and the rest of the basketball world scratching their heads in confusion. Well, rightly so, because not many are aware of what the 23-year-old shooting guard is trying to convey. However, it seems like one fan has cracked the code. Apparently, this cryptic tweet holds immense significance for ANT. “Do It For Mom 2,” the fan commented, revealing the true meaning behind Edwards’ tweet.

This is truly heartwarming stuff from the Minnesota Star. If you’re not aware, Anthony Edwards’ mother and grandmother, both of whom have a special place in his heart, passed away back in 2015. The shooting guard shared a really special bond with his mom and grandma, something which was on display when he got drafted into the league. He was seen with portraits of two of the most important people in his life by his side as he got drafted into the NBA. This tweet and his wholesome gesture are just two of many ways he had paid tribute to his mother and grandma.

Another one of his tributes is his jersey number for the Timberwolves. Anthony Edwards dons the No. 5 uniform as a tribute to his mother, Yvette, and grandma Shirley, as both passed away on day five. One can only appreciate the love he has for his close ones.
Nonetheless, the cryptic message sparked a series of responses from both Minnesota fans and the rest of his followers. One fan wrote, “Make them proud, they are watching over you.” He sent a heartfelt message to Edwards, reminding him of what’s at stake tonight. Well, there’s more where this came from.
