The NBA Playoffs have already seen a lot of dramatic moments this year. Anthony Edwards and Luka Doncic continuing their rivalry is up there. So is Draymond Green crashing out during the Timberwolves series, and even Stephen Curry being unable to stop him. But tonight’s Eastern Conference Final game saw an odd moment involving the arena security.
It happened during Game 2 tonight as the New York Knicks tried to claw one back and tie up the series 1-1 against the Indiana Pacers. Well, it seems a female fan who showed up to MSG tonight was a little butterfingered as she dropped her lipstick from the stands down onto the media. Tony East, who covers Indiana’s pro basketball teams, was the one to reveal this.
It seems the best efforts of fans in the media row, which included trying to toss the lipstick back to the fan thrice, were futile. So, eventually, arena security had no choice but to step in and take care of things.

Media row update: A girl in the section above us dropped her lipstick down ~6 feet onto us. Three tosses back up to her and she couldn’t catch any of them. Right in the hands every time. Security now taking care of it.

Sadly, Tony did not provide us with an update about whether the fan got her stuff back. So, speculation is the only thing we can do right now. Nonetheless, all things considered, this was a pretty tame and wholesome interaction between the security and the fan. After all, run-ins between arena security and fans don’t usually end well.
Need proof? Well, look no further than what happened during the Knicks’ last series against the Boston Celtics at the TD Garden.

Security forced to help Celtics employee remove Knicks fan from the TD Garden
After the New York Knicks made a stunning comeback in Game 2 against the 2024 champions, the Boston Celtics, things got heated. Not between the two teams, no. Things came to a head between a Celtics employee and a jubilant Knicks fan who wouldn’t leave the arena.
This fan drew the employee’s wrath as he held up a Knicks jersey in her face. After watching her team lose, she was obviously in no mood for the Knicks fan’s antics. She immediately screamed for security to remove him. “Get this man out!” she yelled as we saw in a video uploaded on X.

This man had her so flustered that at one point, the Celtics employee fell over a stack of chairs. And in her rage, she blamed the man, although he denied any culpability, claiming she’d tripped and fallen. Clearly, she’d stopped seeing clearly after being pushed to the edge by this man. However, that’s where the video ended. So, we don’t know if arena security eventually removed this man.
Regardless, this man’s interaction with the security was surely less pleasant than the Knicks fan tonight, who only wanted her belongings back. Let’s just hope such interactions between fans and employees like the one at the TD Garden remain few and far between!
