The 5th postseason meeting in 10 years between the Golden State Warriors and the Houston Rockets has not disappointed. It’s had everything, from nail-biting finishes to anxiety-inducing injuries, and of course, drama. Game 4 saw a few fights break out, with Stephen Curry nearly instigating one with Dillon Brooks. And tonight’s game was no different when it came to rows like this.

Tonight, Pat Spencer and Alperen Sengun nearly came to blows, going nose to nose after things got heated between them. It all began when Pat pushed Dillion Brooks. And then, he chose to headbutt the Rockerts’ Senugun. Soon, Trayce Jackson-Davis came in and shoved Sengun away as the Warriors’ bench backed up their man.

Later, the officials stepped in to restore order amid the chaos, and the fight fizzled out even as tempers flared. But things wouldn’t end there. Pat Spencer got ejected for his actions tonight, leaving Stephen Curry without a backup at point guard.

And the Warriors would have had a shot had he not gotten himself booted.  After all, he, Moses Moody, Kevin Knox II, and Trayce Jackson-Davis went on a 21-4 run in the 5th. And at one point, they cut down the Dubs’ lead to around 17 points. However, it was all in vain as the Dubs faltered tonight

It was a disappointing night for the Dubs. After a hard-fought win in Game 4, this game should have been a breeze for them. But tonight, the Rockets showed insane tenacity and grit to keep themselves in the game. Here’s how tonight went for the Dubs as they failed to close out the series against Houston.

Disappointing night out in Houston for Stephen Curry and the Dubs

Amen Thompson and Fred VanVleet combined for 51 points tonight as they saved the series against the Dubs. The game ended 131-116. But things were much earlier in the game. Midway through the third, Steve Kerr gave up on the game. The score was 93-64, and Kerr called for a timeout. He then proceeded to clear the bench,

Ime Udoka, the Rockets’ head coach, reciprocated Kerr’s action in the closing minute of the third after his team went 105-75. However, soon the Dubs’ backup players did really well to help the Dubs mount a comeback of sorts. However, with 8 minutes to go in the game, Udoka put his starters back in the game when the score stood at 109-92. And despite the Dubs’ best efforts, it was more than the players on the court could handle. What’s worse is that Steph wasn’t really even on tonight.

The Baby-Faced Assassin only scored 13 points tonight on 4-12 shooting, turning the ball over thrice. Tonight’s showing was a far cry from the two 30-point games he had in this series. And it wasn’t just Steph, Jimmy Butler wasn’t at his best tonight either. Butler only put up 8 points in 25 minutes played.

All in all, the Warriors looked deflated tonight. And if not for the efforts from their bench players, the final score could’ve been much more embarrassing for the Dubs. But they go back to the Chase Center for Game 6 of this series. So, Steph Curry and co have the opportunity to make things up to their fans at home!
