However, despite the loss an incident that happened during the third quarter of the game left everyone shocked. With just 1:29 left on the clock, Timberwolves star Rudy Gobert took off to make a picture-perfect dunk! As expected everyone on the Wolves roster was hyped up seeing this. Including, Anthony Edwards who flexed his muscles from the team’s bench. Unfortunately, what happened after this sparked reactions from the whole basketball world.

Edwards’ actions did not sit right with the referee as the guard was called for a technical foul. His reaction to this was similar to everyone present in attendance as he looked absolutely clueless and shocked about the situation. The Minnesota star couldn’t believe why he was being booked for flexing from the bench after which he threw the towel around his neck with frustration.

Furthermore, the crowd also extended their support to the 23-year-old as they booed the decision from the stands. However, his actions could lead to more problems for him. The NBA might charge Edwards with disciplinary actions. That’s something he’s been guilty of quite frequently this season so much so, that he has paid around $224,000 in fines in just this season alone. Let’s explore why the Minnesota Star has been in so much trouble.

Why has Anthony Edwards been fined $224,000 this season?

Anthony Edwards is well-known for his unfiltered nature, in fact, this is what separates him from a majority of NBA stars. However, the young guard is now learning that his authenticity comes with a price. A hefty one. We’re not even halfway through the season and the Minnesota star has already racked up some big fines. A huge chunk of which came just last month in December.

Edwards was fined on three occasions in December, all of which were due to the use of profane language during media interviews. He has been fined $25,000, $75,000, and $100,000 on the three occasions. Adding up to the massive $200,000 in just fines and that too in a month! Apart from these Edwards previously was disciplined in November for making an obscene gesture on the court.

It’s safe to say the Minnesota Guard has let emotions get the better of him. However, this sum might still increase with his latest actions after receiving a technical foul for flexing. There’s still a part of the season left and Edwards will have control of his emotions otherwise it can leave a huge hole in his pocket when the season is set and done.
