Playing his 21st NBA season, LeBron James is the oldest player in the league but still one of the most dominant forces on the court. While many players start to regress and slow down at this age, he has defied all odds and is still pumping out monster numbers to keep the LA Lakers afloat. He is still playing as if he were in his prime, averaging 24.3 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 5.5 assists per game, courtesy of his rigorous workout regime.

While his love for wine and football is well-documented, he likes to do both at the same time, concocting a unique recipe to unwind at the end of the day. James revealed, “When I’m not playing Madden or drinking a bottle of wine, which I actually drink wine and play Madden at the same time. But I try to do a good job of sleeping.”

At the beginning of the season, Lakers head coach Darvin Ham hinted at the possibility of James playing fewer minutes, so he could be fresh during the playoffs. However, James had to step up his minutes and is currently averaging 33.7 minutes due to their dismal initial performances.

While the reasoning behind keeping James healthy was understandable, it would all be in vain if they didn’t even reach the playoffs. However, it looks like Anthony Davis is ready to take the reins now and lighten the burden on James’ shoulders. After going scoreless in the second quarter of the season opener, Davis seems to have shaken off the early season rust.

Davis put on an impressive performance on both ends of the court and led the team to victory against the Grizzlies with 19 points, 11 rebounds, and five assists. If he continues his form from this game, we can expect more wins from the Lakers.
