The Westbrook Academy shared on their Instagram handle a glimpse of the hooper enjoying the inauguration and ribbon-cutting ceremony. This expansion, a collaboration with the LA Promise Fund, aims to provide a safe, nurturing environment for students, echoing Russell Westbrook’s own experiences growing up in South Los Angeles. Along with affordable housing, the Westbrook-supported project will incorporate a SEED school and businesses that cater to the community, opening up employment options for residents. Since the inception of the Russell Westbrook Why Not Foundation? in 2012, the hooper has been dedicated to investing back into LA, collaborating with orgs such as LeadersUp to offer healthcare, education, and vocational training opportunities.
