On Saturday, we saw the nail-biting, neck-to-neck game between the Clippers and the Warriors that ended with a one-point difference win for the Clippers (113-112). The star of the show was Russell Westbrook; with eight seconds left on the clock, he managed to get a rebound after Steph Curry missed a jump shot.

Russell passed the ball to Paul George who sank a three at the clock buzzer, turning the tides in their favor. While Russ is often overshadowed in the team, and somehow also falls prey to disrespect from the fans that are uncalled for, last night, he was the one who made the play to bring home that win and PG doesn’t hold back in acknowledging this crucial contribution in a latest episode of his show Podcast P with Paul George.

PG was the one who made the shot, but he gives due credit to Westbrook, who pulled through with the incredible assist. “Great sub at the end to put him in cuz not too many people would make that play or could make that play,” PG13 says, adding that Westbrook’s timing is immaculate and always on the spot. “So shout out to Russ, making that play to get the rebound.

This assist by Westbrook was a game-changing move, as the Dubs were leading by two points over the Clippers (112-110). Once PG gets the ball from Beastbrook, he doesn’t waste any time; with a double crossover and a step back, he takes the shot over Klay Thompson, securing a win for the Clippers.

Once PG got the ball from Russ, he recalls, “As I’m dribbling up, Klay’s backpedaling,” and it was at this moment that he felt an intense eye contact with Steph that somehow made it seem as if Steph was egging him to drive inside the paint. “I’m watching him the whole time and I’m like, all right, well me going to the paint to create something like that won’t work. So then now I’m like, all right if I can just create space like and get to this three.”

At this point, Thompson was already onto him, so without any delay, he went for the three that cemented their win for the night. PG was the highest scorer of the night, with 25 points over 38 minutes. He also managed to contribute 6 rebounds and 6 assists.
