Russell Westbrook’s Latest Interview With Millionaire Wife Nina Earl Simplified, as We Break Down Their Intense Discussions About Marriage, Kids, and Many More

Russell Westbrook has had a lot of inconsistencies in his NBA career. Rife with MVP awards and terrible seasons. Despite that, Brodie has had one constant in life. That is, of course, his college sweetheart and wife, Nina Westbrook. The couple tied the knot in 2015, shortly after in 2017 had their first child Noah. Subsequently, in September 2018, the couple surprised the world by announcing that they expecting again. However, this time around, they had twin daughters. Skye and Jordyn were born in December that same year.

When thinking of power couples in the NBA, Rusell, and Nina aren’t the first names to pop up. However, that is a choice, the former MVP and his wife both like to keep things private. The nine-time all-star is always subject to public scrutiny. Not a lot is known about Nina, apart from being a mother and homemaker is also involved in several ventures. Chief among those endeavors is her recent Podcast, “The Relationship Chronicles with Nina Westbrook.”

The Podcast on YouTube concluded its first season last Thursday. Nina had many interesting guests, in the first season including Gabrielle Union, the wife of former NBA champ Dwyane Wade. Meanwhile, the podcast also featured stars from different walks of life such as comedy legend Kevin Hart. However, the mother of three kept the best for last as she invited her husband for the season finale of her podcast.

Nina Westbrook is “Surprised” While Playing “This or That” with Russell

The unassuming power couple covered a range of topics during the thirty-seven minutes of the podcast’s air time. However, before getting into a deep conversation, the couple started by playing a game called “This or That”. The segment entailed the former MVP answering juicy Rapid-fire questions. “Spirited debates or casual conversations ?” asked Nina to begin the podcast. Westbrook nonchalantly replied, “Casual Conversation”. The question was if all-star prefers “giving or receiving,” Westbrook said “Receiving.”

The next question is where things get controversial. Nina playfully asked, “Pre-game sex or post-game Sex?”.”I have to go post-game post-game post-game sex,” the triple-double king replied. His wife remarks that she wasn’t expecting the last answer. Westbrook elaborates by saying, “Pre-game sex does not benefit me post game is like celebratory you know.” In the end, Nina replies to him by saying, ” I’m surprised I didn’t know the answer to that one.” The next section of the podcast, the couple moves on to discuss how they first met.

Russell Westbrook Found  His Wife “Mysterious” When They First Met

According to reports, Russell Westbrook and his wife Nina have been together since 2007. Russell and Nina Westbrook met while both were playing collegiate basketball at UCLA. They have been together ever since.

Westbrook explained why he fell in love with his wife in the same interview. He said,  “You were surprisingly kind of quiet. You wasn’t talkative. That was attractive to me. Anybody that talks a lot, and catches too much attention to themselves is not my style.” Brodie went to reveal Nina’s background in sports also played a part in him falling for her, “You playing sports was attractive to me, just because we can relate. I think that was it for me. You being quiet gave me a little mystery about you, so I could learn more about you.” 

Since Russell Westbrook rarely speaks to the media, it is encouraging to see him being so honest. It’s nice to see him discussing his marriage to Nina Westbrook in this way since it shows how much he cares about her. Nina quickly questions Russell asking him if being quiet and playing sports were the only two factors that attracted him to her. “You being quiet gave me a little of mystery about so I could learn a little bit more,” said the former MVP. His wife hilariously pointed out, ” So I was a mysterious 18-year-old.” 

The couple moved on to talk about the evolution of their relationship with time.

How Nina put “Pressure” on The Former MVP during their Temporary Separation

Russ had to leave college to chase his NBA goal by declaring for the NBA draft in 2008. The young couple kept up their long-distance romance, and in 2015 they were married. Since then, they have added a third kid to their family. This shows a huge evolution in their relationship. Nina asked Brody a loaded question regarding the situation, “So fast forward to our relationship from dating to kids. What’s been the evolution?”. Russell Westbrook acknowledges the weight of the question. The couple discussed how Russell moved to Oklahoma and the couple were in a long-distance relationship.

With less than a year together in college, Westbrook started playing for the Oklahoma City Thunder. Nina Later moved in with Russell after a year. “I moved to Oklahoma. I was there for a year, and then what happened?” inquired the host. The 9-time All-star hesitantly replied, “Just Say you put a little pressure”. Nina asserted that she wouldn’t come back if they didn’t get engaged. Although the former MVP acknowledged he wasn’t worried about her not coming, he was reassured she would, yet he felt a “little pressure”.

After being engaged, the couple decided to get married. However, both of them have extremely separate experiences of being on their big wedding day.

Nina didn’t have “as much fun” as on their Wedding Day as Russell was “lit”

In front of a large number of their renowned friends, they exchanged vows in a garden ceremony at the Beverly Hills Hotel in Los Angeles. Along with James Harden and Serge Ibaka, other basketball greats Kevin Durant and Kevin Love attended the wedding.

The couple’s first dance during the wedding reception was to “Nothing Even Matters” by Lauryn Hill and D’Angelo. Additionally, Grammy Award winner Miguel performed unexpectedly later in the evening. Nina posted many pictures to Instagram the day after their wedding to commemorate the occasion.However, away from the Glitz and glamour, both of them had very separate experiences. “The wedding was fun. Yes, it well.. I didn’t have as much fun at the wedding as everybody… my experience and your experience was very different,” said Nina.

She further added, “For those of you who don’t know, I’m gonna take you take you there because I’m sure a lot of people can relate to this. Russell had some sort of deal worked out with whomever where they would bring him shots on the hour every hour, and so he was quite lit for our wedding. From the start of the day till the end of the day, me, on the other hand, I didn’t even have… I was talking to everyone. Everyone wanted to catch up on our wedding day. I was meeting family members I had never met before. They wanted to get the full rundown. I didn’t eat, I didn’t drink,  I didn’t have anyone bringing me shots on the hour; no one was looking out for me!” Despite her exhumation during that day, Nina did say that she had fun dancing.

The Couple Addresses the Challenges of Being Married

Nina asks Russell what his thoughts were on what the biggest challenges were for him in their relationship. “I think the combination of just getting adjusted to being married it didn’t really change much in our relationship, but just getting adjusted to being married, um you know living with each other,” said the former OKC Star. He further added, “That stuff, just understanding, now planning the rest of the next couple years having babies and figuring out different things of that nature.”

Nina Explains her side of the story, “For me, one of the big challenges was trying to still building and working on my career and establish myself and juggling work supporting you and all those types of things.” Nina elaborates, “I feel like I wasn’t quite sure who I was going to be what I wanted to do so there was still a lot of questions up in the air, and that caused a little stress for me, but fast forward, we have some some kids. “

Their discussion organically deviates to their kids.

Russell and Nina Talk about How Having Kids Completes Their Relationship

Noah, a boy, was born to Russell and Nina on May 16, 2017. The couple made an announcement that they were pregnant again 16 months after his birth. Nina addresses how happy the first pregnancy experience was for her. She discusses how she would bring their firstborn on “girl trips” to other places. On the Other hand, Russell addresses the fact that being a parent of three children hasn’t always been easy.

He says in each stage their relationship has been “rocky” owing to the adjustments they have made. Particularly for Nina, he says he feels sad that she has to make the sacrifices for him while holding their home together. However, in the end, the couple agreed that the secret of their marriage’s longevity has been the constant communication they have had with one another.
