The San Antonio Spurs have been one of the worst teams in the NBA this season. But despite their abysmal record, there is a sense of anticipation around the Spurs organization and it’s all because of Victor Wembanyama. While the Spurs have struggled to win games, Wembanyama’s exceptional performances have not only captivated the Spurs’ fans but have also drawn the interest of supporters from other franchises.
The Spurs face the Cleveland Cavaliers in their next game. The game is scheduled to tip-off by 8:30 PM, Eastern Time at the Frost Bank Arena in San Antonio. But will fan-favorite Wembanyama play after logging in 28 minutes against the Pelicans yesterday?

Wembanyama available for tonight’s game
There was a small likelihood of Wembanyama being rested for tonight’s game after playing against the Pelicans yesterday. In 28 minutes of playing time, Wembanyama recorded 16 points, 14 rebounds and 7 assists. However, considering Victor has participated in three back-to-back games out of five and has shown no signs of injury, the likelihood of Wembanyama playing tonight is high.

But the Spurs would miss the services of Keldon Johnson for the game against Cleveland. Johnson has missed the last two games due to an elbow injury. Apart from Johnson, the Spurs would also miss 23-year-old forward Charles Bassey, who suffered a season-ending ACL tear while playing in the G-League. While the Cavaliers have most of their players fit and ready for the game, Jarrett Allen could miss the game. Cleveland has listed him as questionable due to an ankle injury.

Predicted Lineups: Spurs vs Cavaliers
The Cleveland Cavaliers go into the game as strong favorites. They are one of the most in-form teams in the league, winning nine of their last ten games. Cleveland would aim to maintain their four-game winning streak and further establish themselves as one of the best teams in the Eastern Conference. They could start the game with Darius Garland, Donovan Mitchell, Max Strus, Dean Wade, and Jarrett Allen.

On the contrary, the Spurs have statistically been the worst team in the Western Conference. However, that was to be expected, as they currently are in the midst of a rebuild. But with Wembanyama leading the team, their future looks promising. They could begin the game with Tre Jones, Devin Vassell, Julian Champagnie, Jeremy Sochan, and Victor Wembanyama.
