Do you know what’s so special about May 5, 2025? Well, it’s the biggest night for fashion and art. Didn’t that hint ring a bell? It’s the Met Gala. One of the most glamorous nights in fashion and art is back with a bang. This year, like every year, to be fair, F1 legend Lewis Hamilton is making a comeback. Interestingly enough, Savannah James is making her grand debut in the Met along with notable names from he entertainment industry. Meanwhile, our very own LeBron James was also going to debut in the same. “Was”?

Well, in October 2024, the committee announced that LeBron would take an honorary celebrity chair at the event. The Lakers’ superstar was ready to bedazzle the Red Carpet, flaunting his presence, legacy, and more. But sadly, that won’t be happening, as Vannah’s better half took to X to end all the curious questions.

Taking to his X handle, the Akron Hammer wrote: “Unfortunately because of my knee injury I sustained at the end of the season I won’t be able to attend the Met Gala in NY tonight as so many people have been asking and congratulating me on! Hate to miss an historical event! My beautiful powerful Queen will be there holding the castle down as she always has done! 🙏🏾🫡🤎✨✨✨”

LeBron James, the 40-year-old maestro of the hardwood, faced a cruel twist of fate during Game 5 of the Western Conference first-round series against the Minnesota Timberwolves. With 8:39 left in the fourth quarter, tension crackled as he collided with Donte DiVincenzo, who was caught setting a moving screen. The result—a painful Grade 2 MCL sprain in his left knee—was as dramatic as it was unfortunate. The game carried on, but the aura shifted the moment LeBron limped off. Now, instead of the Met Gala debut, he’s chasing recovery. For the moment, the King takes a step back.

And while the Chosen One embarks on a healing journey, Savannah James steps into the mega night of fashion. It’s safe to say the James household never disappoints, instead, they make sure commitments are fulfilled. No conditions applied.
