Ja Morant shines as one of the most promising talents in the NBA, firmly securing his place among the league’s rising superstars. His knack for dunking over taller adversaries turns him into a highlight reel. Nevertheless, Morant has recently encountered the less glamorous aspects of stardom, where significant responsibilities fall on individuals. Particularly when they serve as role models for young fans.
Late last season, we saw Ja brandishing a firearm on social media. Despite facing disciplinary actions from the Memphis Grizzlies, he repeated the stunt. However, this time around, the NBA chose to take a tougher stance on Morant suspending him for 25 games in the 2023-24 season. However, according to recent reports, the 24-year-old seems to be “fine” with Grizzlies.

Moreover, Grizzlies’ general manager Zach Kleiman has confirmed the same. The NBA has approved Morant’s ability to travel with the team and even participate in games alongside them during this timeframe.
The Suspension Will See Ja Morant Loose $7 Million and More
Aside from the 25-game absence, Ja faces major financial consequences. Originally, he was expected to earn about $33.5 million for the 2023-34 season. Now, he will forfeit slightly over $300,000 for each game he doesn’t participate in during the suspension, resulting in a total loss of approximately $7.5 million.?
Meanwhile, the two-time all-star will also not be eligible for the regular season MVP or All-NBA honors.
