The Phoenix Suns had a glorious start to their season, defeating the Warriors in their debut game. However, over the five games that they have played so far, the Suns now stand at 2 wins and 3 losses. The Suns did not fare well last season during the Western Conference semifinals, and it seemed as if it were just Durant and Devin Booker carrying the team. Hence, there was a notion around the Suns that they did not have enough depth. With Chris Paul out of the team now, and uncertainty about Booker joining tonight’s game, Durant must definitely be sweating bullets. However, Nick Nurse, the Sixers’ head coach, comes forward to bust the myth that the Suns lack depth, much to Durant’s relief.

Nick Nurse to the rescue

Kevin Durant, who is a vital part of the Suns, had his spirits wavered due to the narrative that was being thrown around. However, Nick Nurse comes to the rescue during an interview with media saying, “I think that the narrative that they’re not deep and they have no other players is completely false. I really like a lot of their other, the punch that a lot of their other guys are giving ’em.” Coach Nurse is of the opinion that the Suns have an assembly of versatile and skillful players who can really step up and put up a show every time they are out on the court.

In fact, Coach Nurse has been nothing but impressed by this team, and he in particular points out Jordan Goodwin, Grayson Allen, Keita Bates-Diop, and Josh Okogie who he says is a game-plan guy who is able to get the team some extra possessions, as players who can step up to the occasion. If this is the case, Durant has nothing to be worried about, because Coach Nurse has completely dismissed the ‘lacking depth’ tag that the Suns had and says, “I mean, these guys have got some athleticism and some decent players.

More injuries for the Suns

The Suns, this time around, have been plagued by some injuries. Devin Booker, who started the show with a 32-point show, suffered an ankle injury that made him questionable for tonight’s game. But it has now been confirmed that he will in fact be sitting this one out.
