The UEFA Champions League Finals was star-studded, which included a few players from the basketball world, making a cameo on Inside the NBA equivalent for Soccer, CBS Sports Golazo. Someone from the NBA who is enjoying their off-season to the fullest as an analyst would be Draymond Green. The Golden State Warriors forward is done with his stint on TNT this season. So he decided to join the sets of CBS, to speak a few words about Inside the NBA. Anyhow, it looks like we are never getting an update from the 2017 DPOY about TNT’s future with the NBA.

Micah Richards asked, “I’ve heard you have been on Inside the NBA, so much as like two days ago, and we’ve been compared to the show. Do you watch our show?” Green expressed his love for CBS Sports Golazo, “I love it, and I love the banter back and forth. It’s free-flowing. I love how you guys do it, it’s amazing. And that show [Inside the NBA], I mean that show is incredible. They’ve won a million Emmys and you guys, y’all are doing the same thing. It’s beautiful.” The forward wasn’t too far off the comparison.

CBS Sports Golazo has been one of the most popular, if not ‘the’ destination for the soccer enthusiasts. It’s soccer rights is reportedly the largest in the USA, hence, attracting 1.6 billion video views, setting the viewership record for Paramount+. Inside the NBA has been of a similar impact. The winner of 19 Emmys is undeniably one of TNT’s best works, averaging 2.8 million viewers in a week in month and outpacing everything on Cable TV except The Five.

Draymond Green’s contract with the ‘Inside the NBA’ is also in danger

Green used to be a special guest on Inside the NBA. Anyhow, after his analysis started to garner some attention, Turner Sports decided to offer him a contract, which he eventually signed. He accepted a multi-year offer from TNT in January 2022.

As per the NBA’s report, “Green will join the Sports Emmy Award-winning studio team…making select appearances – a combination of remote contributions and, at times, in person – throughout the season.” A regular season exit this year helped Green to spend the majority of his off-season with the TNT crew.

With Inside the NBA coming to a likely end, Green’s future on the show is also a doubt. Barkley hinted that the show is ending soon, after game 5 of the Western Conference Finals. He told Luka Doncic of the Dallas Mavericks, “We’ll miss you. We’re done after tonight”, which made a few emotional on the internet. Green is silent about the future of Inside the NBA, so it looks like we will have to wait and watch what’s about to happen.
