NBA stars often refer to Madison Square Garden as “The Mecca of Basketball”. The venue has seen some of the most memorable performances in NBA history. From Wilt Chamberlain’s 73-point game in 1962 to Elgin Baylor’s 71 points against the Knicks in 1961, MSG has seen it all. In the modern NBA, it continues to be the favorite place for legends. Michael Jordan scored 63 points in a game against the Boston Celtics. Stephen Curry, too, has broken a record there. And how can we forget LeBron? He, too, has a special relationship with the venue.

Stephen Curry makes a record in Manhattan

On December 14th, 2021, Golden State Warriors point guard Stephen Curry lit up MSG like a Christmas tree. In a game against the New York Knicks, Curry broke the NBA record for the most three-pointers made in a career. Ray Allen held the previous record with 2,973 three-pointers. Curry’s performance etched his name in records of NBA history.
