The Philadelphia 76ers‘ last NBA title came in 1983 when superstars like Julius Erving, Moses Malone and Mo Cheeks led the team. 40 years later, the Sixers’ new championship chances still look bleak. The ongoing James Harden situation has already cast shadow on the franchise in the upcoming NBA season.
As The Beard issue refuses to thaw, a $450 million dollar rich comedian, who’s one of the biggest Sixers fans, turned analyst over the reluctant star’s situation.

James Harden faced funnyman’s comment
In a recent interview with Philadelphia Inquirer, Kevin Hart opened up about his fandom for the city’s sports teams. When asked about the Sixers and their situation, Hart said, “Unfortunately, it’s the business of basketball. None of us know what’s happening behind the scenes. We can only hope that whatever it is gets ironed out and that James Harden is still a Sixer at the start of the season. I loved seeing Harden and Joel Embiid together. I love the combination. James is a friend and a true pro, and I’m hopeful that in this side of his career and in his place, he’ll find a reason to stay here.”
The drama began last season when Harden took a $14 million dollar pay cut to facilitate acquisition of players such as De’Anthony Melton and P.J Tucker. Sixers GM, Daryl Morey verbally promised him that he would be given a new contract after the season was over. But Morey back tracked on the promise.
With the future of both their superstars looking uncertain, the Sixer fans have very little to cheer about.

Has “The Process” Failed?
It’s not that long ago when the Sixer fans looked to the future with optimism. “Trust the Process” was the theme of that era, with young players like Embiid, Simmons and Fultz all drafted through the lottery in hope to one day compete for the NBA title. But the team fell agonizingly short season after season.

Embiid had stuck with the franchise through thick and thin, but he is a talent that truly deserves to win an NBA title in his career. And that becomes unlikely with each passing season, if he stays with the Sixers.
