The Los Angeles Lakers failed to build on their three-game winning streak as the Sacramento Kings beat them Wednesday night. The Lakers faced an embarrassing 125-110 loss, even though LeBron James and D’Angelo Russell pitched in 28 points each, with James even recording his 108th career triple-double. As a result, Anthony Davis, who was a no-show with just 9 points, faced the brunt of the fans and analysts for the Lakers’ dismal showing.

Anthony Davis‘ performance trajectory has been concerning. After going scoreless in the second quarter of the season opener to aiding the team with 30-point performances, he has now reverted to single digits. His inconsistent performances might leave a dent in the Lakers’ championship aspirations. As a result, veteran analysts blasted the 30-year-old for not coming through when his team needed him the most.

Anthony Davis slammed for his inconsistent performance

In the recent episode of Undisputed, Keyshawn Johnson drew comparisons to Victor Wembanyama’s inconsistent plays. However, the key distinction is that Wemby is a rookie who is still trying to acclimatize to the demanding NBA. Meanwhile, Davis is a 12-year-old veteran with championship experience. In the Lakers’ recent loss, not only did Davis score just nine points, nine rebounds, and zero assists, but he also committed a season-high five turnovers, which according to Keyshawn is “not acceptable”.

Keyshawn said, “He’s a 12-year veteran I believe, this shouldn’t happen. You [Skip Bayless], I, and Richard went back and forth about Wembanyama yesterday about his inconsistencies in 9-10 games as a rookie…this [Anthony Davis] is a 12-year veteran, we shouldn’t see this at all.”

That’s not all; Skip Bayless also had something to add about AD’s performance. According to the veteran analyst, Anthony Davis was “sleepwalking” while LeBron and Co. were desperately attempting to steer the team past the formidable Kings squad.

Keyshawn Johnson makes a bold prediction

The Brow‘s nine points in the last match tied his season-low nine points against the Miami Heat, in which he flared up his hip injury. In all fairness, his movements did look restricted in their recent loss, but Davis owned up to his faults instead of blaming the left adductor injury. He told reporters, “I just played bad. I’m not going to put it on anything. … It was just missed shots. I just played like s— tonight. It’s that simple.”

According to Keyshawn, if AD keeps up this inconsistency, it won’t be long before the Lakers decide to trade him away for better talents. “If he doesn’t hurry up before the trade deadline and turn it around, his name is gonna start floating. Package him up, move him to Chicago. There’s Zach Lavine, that’s a possibility. There’s a DeMar DeRozan with an expiring contract. That’s going to come up if he continues.”
