Superstar Stephen Curry didn’t just keep his door open for a future in politics recently. In fact, he sowed the seed for it back in 2017. The Golden State Warriors franchise became a global sensation today because of its unbelievable run in the last decade. And Steph Curry is undoubtedly the crown prince of the run. During the impressive run, the Baby-faced Assassin took the platform to honor then-POTUS Barack Obama with a special gesture in 2017.
During the 2016-17 NBA regular season game against the Cleveland Cavaliers, Curry honored Obama by donning the presidential Under Armour Curry 3. He also went on to drop 20 points with 11 assists to help the team register a blow-out 126-91 win over LeBron James‘ Cavs.

Over the last two days, Warriors’ crown prince Stephen Curry has been in the headlines with his political entry hint. During an interview with CBS for the launch of his new children’s book ‘I Am Extraordinary’, he said that he may run for election in the future.
Steph further added, “I have an interest in leveraging every part of my influence for good… if politics is the way that you can create meaningful change…” The superstar’s statement isn’t just taken out of context but as a reflection of the work he has put in off the court.
Importantly, the 10x NBA All-Star’s friendship with former POTUS Obama has also played a huge part in the hype around his political entry hint. Curry and Obama have had a special bond between each other, as they had swung golf clubs together and the 36-year-old even gifted a sneaker from his collection to the former president. Apart from that, the 4x NBA Champion has also engaged in various charity works with Obama and many alongside his wife, Ayesha Curry.
Stephen Curry’s welfare work for the community
Before kicking off his dream project, Eat. Learn. Play, Stephen Curry collaborated with Obama’s foundation ‘My Brother’s Keeper’. He donned a customized MKB Curry 4 sneakers for a game in 2018. He auctioned the shoe after the game and donated it to the former president’s foundation. Apart from that, Steph has also made multiple visits to the White House to meet the president.
