The NBA offseason brings many moments that can befuddle fans. As many athletes travel the world, they link up with numerous personalities. Usually, these meet-ups also bring cross-sports personalities together. The relationship between the NBA and football leagues is well-known in this case. However, some meetings can leave fans confused because they had never conceived such an idea.
In one such instance, Bukayo Saka’s photo with an NBA star left many wondering.

Saka can relate to the NBA Star’s journey
Saka earned his chops just at 21. It seems like he has been forever in the EPL scene. When he was in his late teens, he was playing vital minutes for Arsenal, and, as he turned 20; he won the Arsenal Player of the Year Award and Europa League Player of the Week.
These accolades make him a star-level player. He has made 28 appearances for England’s national outfit, further implying his status as a high-quality player. Therefore, he is a well-recognized athlete in football.
In a terrific twist, a photo and a video posted by Clippers’ beat writer Tomer Azarly shows Saka signing his jersey for NBA superstar Kawhi Leonard. In the photo, both are holding Saka’s #7 jersey while in the video, the superstar is having Saka sign the jersey for him. This came after Saka’s stunning long-range goal against Nottingham Forest in the EPL opener.

Both athletes are part of New Balance and cross-sports ventures like that are common. The Los Angeles Clippers Forward signed with the company in 2018 after feeling low-balled by the Jordan brand. The $80 million athlete decided to create his own brand with a relatively lesser-known company compared to Nike, Adidas Etc. As of now, he is going to release his third shoe with them soon.
Meanwhile, earlier this year, Saka also announced the launch of his shoe line with the company.
While some fans pointed out the NB connection, a lot of fans felt confused by this meeting. A big reason for that is Leonard’s limited off-season public appearances.
