“When reality kicks in that you ain’t going back no more, now it’s like, ‘Alright, who are you?’” This is what Gilbert Arenas had to say about life after the NBA. Life after the NBA can be pretty tough for a professional hooper. While many expect their lives to be easy after accumulating generational wealth, the reality is often more complex. For several hoopers, basketball is everything they have known since their childhood. So, all of a sudden when they can’t hoop, they may find themselves grappling with confusion and uncertainty.

However, Stephen Curry may have found his calling after he is done with his Hall of Fame-worthy basketball career. During an interview with CBS, Steph recently revealed his political ambitions. He said, “I have an interest in leveraging every part of my influence for good in the way that I can… So, if politics is a way that you can create meaningful change or if there’s another way outside politics that we can do.” Steph’s political admission pleasantly surprised several fans. But Stephen Curry’s impeccable public image means that his political admission didn’t raise many eyebrows. He is known for steering clear of controversies and maintaining a spotless reputation in the NBA.

Even his NBA counterparts would back Curry if he decided to pursue a career in politics. Danny Green, 3x NBA champion and former Laker, recently gave his vote of confidence to Stephen Curry during an interview with TMZ. He said, “If anybody from our league is gonna represent us in that fashion, it’d be him. I’d vote for him.” Green added further, “He does things the right way. Spiritual guy, faith, uses his platform for great things. He’s a good human being. How can you hate Steph Curry?”

However, two days ago, Stephen Curry stated that he isn’t aware whether he’s fully committed to the idea of getting into politics. But no matter what, if Steph chooses to pursue a career in politics, his spirituality may play a crucial role.

Stephen Curry and Spirituality

Stephen Curry grew up in a practicing Christian family. Sonya Curry, the matriarch of the Curry family, from the very beginning, instilled spirituality and faith in all of her three children. Steph even met his wife, Ayesha Curry, at a church in North Carolina, while they were still kids.

In a 2019 episode of “Stephen vs the Game,” Curry credited his faith for keeping him focused. He said, “My faith is tested on the court as much as it is in life. It’s the part that always keeps me focused on what I need to do when it comes to my family.” Spirituality and faith have made a huge impact on Stephen Curry throughout his entire life. And if he decides to take the political route, that would be the case, regardless. After all, his shoes already have the words from the Biblical verse Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things (through Christ who strengthens me)”. What are your thoughts on this? Let them flow in the comments.
