Despite putting in a peak effort, the San Antonio Spurs fell short by four points against the Los Angeles Lakers on Wednesday (December 13). The Spurs have one more opportunity on December 16th to not only defeat the Lakers but also to break their 18-game losing streak at the Frost Bank Center. Despite their optimistic start in the first few games, the Spurs now find themselves with the Western Conference’s longest losing streak, cursed with a 3-20 record.

Can Wemby stop the losing tide for Spurs?

The Lakers are playing solid basketball. After coming off winning the In-Season tournament cup, they are holding the fifth position with a 15-10 record. LeBron James missed the last game against the Spurs where Anthony Davis stepped up and scored 37 points and grabbed 11 rebounds. His performance was mind-blowing, especially because he played through a nagging hip injury sustained in the first game of their Texas trip. But if he and LeBron do not play in the next match-up, who really can stop wemby?
