In the latest episode of “The Draymond Green Show” on YouTube that aired today, Golden State Warriors big man Draymond Green was asked if he thinks he’s misunderstood. Green got real about it and offered a golden reply, “Of course, but so is everyone else that the world judges and don’t know.” He seems to include his teammate, Stephen Curry, and possibly every other NBA player in this “everyone else,” but his logic holds weight.

Green explained why he believes NBA players are often misunderstood, “I don’t look at myself like oh ya’ll misunderstood me and like look at me I’m misunderstood, like Steph Curry is misunderstood simply because you don’t know him, LeBron James is misunderstood simply because you don’t know him. So the reality is with the jobs that we do, we’re in front of a camera all the time. There’s always something going on, there’s always talk around us, there’s all of these things so it’s in your face. When something is always in your face, it’s only a natural thing to feel like you know ‘it’. You know ‘them’. But the reality is you don’t. You see what you see and that’s it!

The question arrives following the showdown between the Golden State Warriors and Orlando Magic that didn’t turn out too well for Draymond Green, despite the Warriros’ 101-93 victory. Not even a whole five minutes had passed in the game and Green was ejected.

Green’s frustration boiled over after a bump with referee Ray Acosta. Having already been arguing about a call on teammate Andrew Wiggins, Green took issue with the technical foul and continued to voice his feelings to Acosta.  The situation escalated as Green reportedly used strong language towards the official, leading to his ejection from the game.  This wasn’t a welcome sight for Warriors superstar Chef Curry, who appeared visibly saddened by Green’s exit.

This ejection adds another tally to Green’s technicals. He’s now just 6 ejections shy of dethroning the reigning king of techs, Rasheed Wallace (29 career ejections). Green’s ejection might have sent him to the locker room early, but the Warriors, currently 10th in the West, managed to pull off another dub after their victory against the Heat. Wiggins went off for a team-high 23 points, while Curry dished out 17 points and 10 assists. Meanwhile, the Magic are slumping with two straight losses, but they’re still hanging on to that 5th seed in the East.

Is Draymond Green the tantrum king?

Green’s early exit adds to his growing collection of missed games this season. His entanglement with Nurkic from the Suns got him suspended for 16 games back in December. It was followed by a five-game ban in November for putting Gobert from the Timberwolves in a headlock. Another suspension arrived for the forward when he stomped on Sabonis from the Kings during last season’s playoffs. The culmination of instances has landed Green right below Kevin Durant (who got tossed five times in the 2017-18 season) with four ejections in a season.

In “The Draymond Green Show,” big man Green donned the hat of the ‘bigger person’ and addressed the whole issue. He elaborated, “It just can’t happen. I said what I said. I deserved to be kicked out at that point…Kind of wish I would have turned my body and angled it and gone to the bench, but yeah, it just can’t happen.”
