Steve Kerr dropped a hammer on the Stephen Curry rehab update. The Golden State Warriors had two comforting news tonight. One was about Steph’s recovery and the other was the fighting win against the San Antonio Spurs. While everyone expected another positive update on the superstar’s return, the Warriors HC Kerr slapped everyone with reality.
During the post-game press conference, a reporter asked about tonight’s win and Steph’s progress. Kerr replied, ” We reassess tomorrow, but I don’t expect him to play in Dallas. So we got another tough game coming up. We needed this one, obviously. We are in a fight right now… Good to get a win and build some confidence without Steph.”

The Warriors’ hot form came to a standstill after Steph’s injury. During the final few minutes of the game against the Chicago Bulls, the superstar rolled his right ankle. The management immediately took him to the locker room, and the team ended up losing the game by a point. The reports later revealed that he sustained a sprained ankle and would return to the court sooner than expected.
Moreover, the MRI results further doubled down the severity of the injury. The reports came out clean, and the team announced that Steph will be reevaluated again on Tuesday.

Before that update dropped in, the team had already lost a game against the 15th seeding Spurs. While the Baby-faced Assassin‘s extended injury break looked scary for the Dubs’ chance at the playoff, Kerr dropped another hammer.
However, the Dubs would take the confidence from tonight’s win, restricting the Victor Wembanyama-powered Spurs at their home. Next up, they face the in-form Dallas Mavericks in a road game. The Dubs might need to pull up their socks for this.

The Warriors are currently at a crucial juncture, fighting for a spot at the playoff. In the last few weeks, the Warriors were competing against the Lakers for the 9th spot. However, it looks even tougher now after the consecutive losses. The team definitely would require a win against the Mavs to keep their footing strong at the 10th spot.
