The Golden State Warriors have looked nowhere near their best this season. They have significantly underperformed, as they currently languish in the final play-in spot of the Western Conference. Stephen Curry’s All-NBA caliber performances have been a bright spot amidst an otherwise lackluster season for the Warriors. However, fans of the Warriors were dealt a hammer-blow after Curry suffered an ankle injury against the Chicago Bulls.
Stephen Curry injuring his ankle is nothing new, but the timing of his injury couldn’t have been worse. With less than 20 regular season games remaining, the Dubs desperately need Curry back on the court as soon as possible. He has already missed two back-to-back games against the San Antonio Spurs. Curry would most probably also miss the game against the Mavericks after HC Steve Kerr confirmed his absence. Kerr said, “I don’t expect him to play in Dallas,” during a press conference.
Warriors’ fans are growing increasingly anxious about Curry’s injury, especially since the team has yet to disclose a timeline for his return. However, The Athletics’ Shams Charania has offered an encouraging update on Steph’s recovery from injury. During a segment on Run It Back, Shams stated that Curry’s ankle injury isn’t serious. He said, “I’m told it’s not a super serious ankle sprain, but it is an ankle sprain that would cost [Steph Curry] some time…So we’ll see, is a week a good enough amount of time for him to be ready to go by Saturday.”

In a recent post-match interview, Klay said, “We’ve been in this position before where he has had time off, and we’ve just got to do it collectively.” With less than 20 regular season games remaining, fans of the Warriors are eagerly anticipating the return of Stephen Curry and hoping that the current lineup can maintain stability until his comeback.
