Stephen Curry took the taunting game to new heights. Houston Rockets‘ injured Tari Eason brought the Thursday night game alive with a customized T-shirt. The words on the T-shirt read, “Warriors, come out to play.” While Draymond Green and Klay Thompson gave it back to him with an epic taunt after the blow-out win, Steph took it up a notch higher. The self-established ‘Petty King’ used a 1979 American blockbuster movie reference to troll the Rockets bench.

The Dubs superstar, who called himself a ‘petty king’ in 2022, clicked three empty bottles. One would see that and simply move on. But movie buffs had a ‘light bulb moment’ after realizing it was in reference to the film ‘The Warriors’ to troll the Rockets star. During the post-game presser, Stephen Curry acknowledged his act. When a reporter asked about the same, he said, “Absolutely, that was the moment.”

The Baby-faced Assassin couldn’t have thought of a better way to taunt Tari Eason. The 22-year-old star wore the T-shirt with the triggering words in the same font style as the 1979 movie’s title. Little did he know that Stephen Curry would use the same reference against him. In the film, a character, to taunt the protagonist’s gang, clicks three empty glass bottles while he says, “Warriors, come out to play.”

After recording 29 points tonight, Steph headed to the bench during the garbage minutes with the Dubs leading the game by 20 points. While the former MVP remained quiet, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green taunted the crowd, yelling, “Warriors, come out to play.”

And Steph, for his share, pulled off the bottle-clicking antics. One may wonder that the superstar had gone out of character. But that isn’t the case. During the 2022 NBA Finals, a reporter asked him about the ongoing trash talks and taunts across the arena. Curry simply said, “I’m the petty king. So I know all about everything and I use it as entertainment and have fun with it.” with a smile on his face.

Stephen Curry’s stats vs. Houston

Despite the ups and downs this season, the Dubs had a great run against the Rockets, winning all three of their encounters. Out of these three games, Stephen Curry came out on top, averaging 28.3 points with 6 rebounds and 4.3 assists. Notably, a one-on-one play against the Rockets’ Dillon Brooks where Steph crosses him twice and drops a three-pointer, went viral for obvious reasons.

Moreover, in his overall career, Steph has produced a similar record against the H-Town. So far, he has played 42 games against them and scored an average of 24.8 points per game with 6.8 assists and 4.7 rebounds with a high score of 40 points in 2022.

Tonight could be the Warriors’ last encounter against the Rockets, as Houston’s chance at the ring looked almost bleak after their 3-consecutive loss. Apart from that, the Warriors got their biggest margin of 8 wins above 500.
