After thumping the Rockets, the Golden State did not have much of a celebration time. They had Anthony Edwards and the Timberwolves waiting, who had an impressive 4-1 win over the Lakers. But with such a short turnaround, the worst news hit the Dub Nation in the round 2 series opener. Stephen Curry, who began the game, failed to finish due to an injury. However, thanks to the prowess of Buddy Hield, they secured a game 1 win. Which helped them and the league in creating history.
The Warriors continue to march on, although this time their chief did not play a huge part. After a grueling Rockets injury, where the Houston players constantly targeted his shooting hand, the 4x NBA champion suffered a lower-body injury. A no-contact injury where Stephen Curry started limping after that floater from the elbow. He was grabbing at his hamstring before asking to be subbed out.
The news later confirmed that it was a hamstring strain. And Stephen Curry did not play any further part in the game. Before going out, he had 13 in 13 minutes. It was 27-20 Warriors. Despite his absence, Golden State continued to stay true to the task at hand. They eventually won as they kept out the Wolves 88-99. Thus, the victory also marked a record for the league.

Before the Golden State victory lap without Stephen Curry, the Pacers doubled down on their road victories. Not just game 1, but even won in game 2 against the favorites Cavaliers. Another eastern team, the Knicks, did the same as they kept out the Boston Celtics at TD Garden. A clutch steal at the end from Bridges sealed the win for the New York team. The onslaught of road victories also continued thanks to the Nuggets beating the OKC Thunder yesterday.

“The Boston game, the OKC game, and earlier tonight, I’m like, damn, this is why you love sports.” During the recent broadcast of Inside the NBA, Chuck was happy with how competitive the games have been. It was before the Warriors and the Wolves showdown, that’s why he only spoke about three games.

“Because you can talk about who’s supposed to win and who you think is going to win. But until you go out there and lace them up. But the last three games, if you don’t like basketball, there’s something wrong with you.” However, the spirit of the playoffs might not be all good in the Golden State.
After all, Stephen Curry had to check out of the opener against the Wolves. Even his newest teammate emphasized his importance to the team. “We want Steph back. I’ll tell you that. It’s hard playing without that man. But we got one on the road. Came here, did what we had to do,” said Jimmy Butler about tonight’s win.
