Barely a day after his tussle with Miami Heat’s Patty Mills, Draymond Green was once again in the spotlight for the wrong reasons. This time, Green didn’t even last five minutes on the court before he was tossed out for the fourth time this season for jawing with the officials over a foul call. Following Green’s ejection, Stephen Curry, visibly frustrated with the chaos that unfolded on the court, had a meltdown. However, with 30 seconds remaining in the contest, Steph pulled out his classic three-pointer to clinch a 101-93 victory over the Magic. And in an unusual show of emotion, he then proceeded to kick the chairs on the sidelines.

While discussing Green’s antics and subsequent reactions to it on ESPN’s recent episode, Tim Legler criticized Wednesday’s ejection as an unnecessarily selfish act on Green’s part, especially with the Warriors at such a crucial juncture of their season. “Here’s the thing with Draymond, he just truly believes that these guys don’t have the nerve to toss me…That’s just an absolute selfish move to leave your teammates out to dry overnight when you have to have a win,” said the former Warriors guard.

Meanwhile, Jay Williams tried to explain the Chef’s emotional outburst with the analogy of a toxic relationship. “We’ve all been in relationships where you just get to a certain point where you’re mentally exhausted, and you say, ‘I’m over it. I’m done with it.’ I kind of feel like Steph and Steve Kerr are at that point where they’re over it,” stated the 42-year-old.

Early in the first quarter, Paolo Banchero created an and-one opportunity with Andrew Wiggins picking up a foul at the rim. However, Draymond Green disagreed with the call, exchanging some choice words with the referee and promptly receiving a technical foul. Despite this, he continued arguing with the officials and was eventually ejected after appearing to mouth “pu— a– n—-“ at referee Ray Acosta.

While the Warriors succeeded in securing a much-needed win against the Magic, it would have seriously hurt the Warriors’ candidacy for the play-in tournament had the outcome been any different.
