Chicago Bulls are going to face the Golden State Warriors tomorrow. Before the much-anticipated encounter, the bigwigs of the NBA were present at the Bulls Ring of Honor gala. While the event saw many celebrities stepping foot on the red carpet, attention too zoomed in on Steve Kerr. The decisions of the Golden State Warriors coach have been criticized on various occasions.

From 1992 to 1998, Phil Jackson acted as a head coach for the Chicago Bulls. During the same time, Kerr was a member of the Bulls too. They together won 3 NBA championships in 1996, 1997, and 1998. As the Golden State Warriors are no longer the team they used to be, the fans went on to express ire at Kerr’s reunion with Jackson.

A fan said that Kerr was taking Jackson’s help to save the Warriors. He wrote, “Steve Kerr asking for tips on how to save the Warriors.”

One imagined that Jackson was critical of his rotation decisions in the matches. He tweeted, “Maybe Phil can tell him how bad he’s doing in rotations and calling plays or making new offensive plays.”

One was straightforward with a piece of advice, “Learn something while you can Mr. Kerr.”

One shared that the event entirely revolved around getting Steve Kerr there. He wrote, “Just realized they really planned it around Steve Kerr being able to be there.”

One came with a brutal jibe that Golden Stae Warriors were no longer interested in Kerr. He wrote, “Golden State Warriors said Bulls can keep Kerr. No need to return to San Francisco.”

Though fans were adamant that Kerr needs to learn from Jackson, the two have illustrious career trajectories.

Phil Jackson Vs Steve Kerr

Jackson won 11 NBA Championships as a coach, 2 as a player. Kerr won 5 NBA championships as a player and four as a coach. Jackson seemed to be fond of Kerr after his time at the Bulls. He wanted him to come to the New York Knicks, but Kerr chose to coach the Warriors. Steve went on to accumulate honors at the Warriors, becoming a 4-time NBA champion, NBA coach of the year, and getting his name in the top 15 NBA coaches in history.

The achievements of Jackson weigh much heavier than that of Kerr. Jackson, after all, has coached for 20 seasons. But the first five years of Steve are better compared to that of Jackson. Steve has a stellar 322-88 record in the first five years, with a monster 785 winning percentage. Jackson’s record stands at 295-115 with a 720 winning percentage.
