Steven Adams had to take a time out from his NBA career due to a knee injury in January while playing against the Phoenix Suns. He was later diagnosed with a PCL strain. Afterward, Steven underwent a stem cell injection, and ever since, he has been in rehabilitation. However, as discomfort persisted, the Grizzlies‘ center is set to undergo knee surgery, which will hopefully help him get back on the court.

According to the rule, every team must insure the contracts of their top five players. This is rational because these players are the top assets of the team. However, there is a catch to this, the top 5 players meaning the top five highest-paid players. If we then look at the Memphis list, Steven Adams is the fifth highest-paid member of the team, the top being Ja Morant. According to this logic, he is supposed to be insured by the Grizzlies.

Grizzlies without Adams
Last season, Steven Adams topped the charts with the highest offensive rebounds per game at 5.1; he also averaged 11.5 rebounds per game. Steven missing the entire season will be a blow to the Grizzlies; his absence will be felt by the team. The team will definitely miss out on his rebounds and defensive force.
