Surpassing 27,409 Points, Who’s Next for Kevin Durant in NBA’s All-Time Scoring List?

Kevin Durant has finally made it to the NBA exclusive All-Time scoring list after 17 seasons. In a recent matchup against the Denver Nuggets, he needed just 17 points to surpass Moses Malone. In the second quarter of the game, KD secured 10th place, scoring 27,409+ career points. His offense is still lethal after years of experience playing at an elite level. Durant put up an impressive 30 points against Denver, but they fell short of a victory by 111-119 points. 

After entering the top 10 list, who is next for him on the all-time list, given that KD still has many years left in the NBA?  

KD is after the 8th spot at the end of this season

After beating Moses Malone for the 10th spot on the all-time scoring list, Kevin Durant will be looking to surpass  Carmelo Anthony and Shaquille O’Neal by the end of this season. Durant has 27,423 career points at the time of writing. Carmelo has 28,289 career points at the 9th spot. That’s just a difference of 866 points between him and KD. Shaq is at the 8th spot with 28,596 career total points. The next target for KD in terms of scoring is 1,173 points to take the 8th spot. 

In the last season, Durant scored 1366 points after playing just 47 games. On an average of his 16 seasons so far, he is putting up more than 1,700 points per season. KD will go down as one of the elite shooters of all time. It’s just a matter of time before he breaks other records.

Kevin Durant has a superior scoring average

In his rookie season, he showed his potential for greatness and averaged 20.3 points per game, an outstanding performance that got him a Rookie of the Year award. His average scoring increased to 25.3 points per game in the next season. And in a historic feat, he has never averaged below 25 points ever after his rookie season. By his third year, he emerged as a lethal 30 points-per-game shooter.

With the Phoenix Suns this year, KD is in talks of an MVP leader already. He is putting up second highest in the league 31.2 points per game.
