An enthralling series comes to an end. It was the Golden State that beat the Houston side, which had the home court advantage in Game 7. A 103-89 win and Buddy Hield’s explosion were enough for the Warriors to overcome the Rockets. Despite being a number 2 seed and not progressing past the first round might sting the Rockets fan base. But one of the most vocal supporters of the team is ready to face the music. This time, there is no banter from Tari Eason’s mother but just facts, owning up to the defeat.

Over the series, Teroya Eason voiced her frustration, especially over the Warriors fanbase, to protect her son. Especially after the game 4 clash, Draymond Green, her son Tari Eason, was getting disrespected, and Teroya wasn’t going to stand for it. It seems the jokes and banter around her son are running again as the forward was distraught during the game 7 performance. One clip showed Jabari Smith consoling his teammate, who had a towel over his head, and he looked down.

But his mother, not looking down, in fact, is ready to face the jokes. “We deserve everything you got coming at me. I’m ready.” Uploading a GIF of King Kong signifying that she was not backing down from the social media antics. It’s not the first time that she has engaged with the Warriors fanbase. It all started when the Rockets forward and Green battled for a loose ball in the final minutes of Game 4.

During the altercation, Green tripped, and while falling over, the back of his foot made contact with Tari Eason’s head. Which, naturally, infuriated her mother. “He almost got that business!!! Kicking my baby in the head. STAND UP TALL ROCKETS!!!” Teroya Eason wrote. The rant did not end as the war of words with the Dub Nation continued.

Tari Eason’s mother stood tall despite the stats against her son

The 23-year-old is in his third year of his NBA career. He is yet to establish himself as the starter for the Rockets, yet his defensive abilities are very well known. The 6’8″ forward with his defensive versatility and rebounding ability became a key component of Houston’s defensive schemes, particularly known for his ability to guard multiple positions. So, when a tweet against her son was made, Teroya did not hesitate to shut them up.

What’s your perspective on:

Is Teroya Eason's defiance a sign of strength, or should she let her son handle the heat?

Have an interesting take?

He’d not only start on the Warriors, but he’d be their 2’nd best player. Averaging 30 minutes. You unathletic mfs better pick on your own moms. Tell them to bring your pizza rolls and a drink downstairs you look thirsty. You talk about hoop. I birthed a hooper,” Teroya blasted. Another instance was when she took a jab at Stephen Curry.

When my son scores 3 it’s funny tho. Who else scored 3 once against us? The greatest shooter in history? That’s what I heard. I could be wrong though. My son wasn’t born to score 3’s he was born to stop mfs from it. AND THAT MF DO HIS JOB! Yall better fuck with somebody else Mom,” Teroya pointed out. After the series loss, it was natural that his son felt emotional on the bench.

Tari Eason emerged as a defensive force in the 2025 playoffs, even as the Rockets suffered a gut-wrenching Game 7 loss to the Golden State Warriors in the first round. His relentless motor and elite defensive metrics—highlighted by a league-best steal percentage and one of the top block rates among forwards—made him a disruptive presence on the floor.

Eason’s Game 6 outing, where he tallied four steals and shot efficiently, was a masterclass in doing the little things that don’t always show up on the scoreboard. The performance drew comparisons to a young Trevor Ariza, especially in terms of two-way versatility.

Under Ime Udoka’s defensive-minded system, which is perfectly suited to his strengths, Eason looks like a foundational piece in Houston’s long-term rebuild. If his trajectory holds, Sixth Man of the Year buzz or even a contract extension by 2026 may be on the horizon.
