Draymond Green made headlines again after getting ejected from today’s game against the Phoenix Suns. Green was given a flagrant foul after he delivered a wide-open punch to Jusuf Nurkić. The incident happened in the third quarter when both Green and Nurkic were tussling for a spot. In the heat of the moment, Green swung a direct blow at Nurkic. The impact sent Nurkic down to the floor and halted the game.

It’s a murky situation even for Curry to defend. While he is disappointed with Green’s antics, he needs him for a championship run. Green has been a part of the fit that had Steph winning multiple championships. Against the Suns today, the Warriors fell short of just 3 points to claim the victory. This incident makes it Green’s third ejection in this season. After head-locking Rudy, he received two technical fouls and got ejected after getting chippy with the Cavs. It is paramount that Green maintains poise from now on and is out there with the teammates.

Draymond Green apologized to Jurkic post-game

There was nothing Jurkic did that could have provoked Green to swing the blow. He didn’t even make as much physical contact. Later, Jurkic took a jibe at Green saying that he was lucky Green didn’t choke him. Jurkic personally feels that “brother needs help”. While speaking about the intent, Green was clear that he didn’t want to hurt Jurkic. “I am not one to apologize for things I mean to do, but I do apologize to Jusuf because I didn’t intend to hit him,” he said post-game.
