In one of the biggest transfers in EuroLeague history, AS Monaco has officially acquired the four-time NBA all-star Kemba Walker. The 33-year-old American guard has had a successful 12-season career in the NBA. As of now, he has signed a one-year deal with Monaco. His move shocked fans, as they expected the shifty ball handler to razzle-dazzle on the NBA hardwood soon. While many fans around the globe see Kemba’s move as a downgrade in his career, Walker’s former teammate has different thoughts.

Nicolas Batum has first-hand experience of what it takes to play in other major leagues. Before leaping to NBA, Batum played two seasons with Le Mans Sarthe (2006-08). During the 2011 NBA lockout, he returned to the Old Continent for one year with SLUC Nancy in the French league. He highly regards and wishes for Kemba and believes his skills will only sharpen in the EuroLeague.

Anxious to Watch the New Documentary, Stephen Curry’s Mother Shared Her Enthusiasm Before Watching: “I’m Going to Go in Raw”

Despite an average of 19.3 points, 3.8 rebounds, 5.3 assists, and 1.2 steals in 750 regular-season games, Kemba has recently ventured from one team to another. His last reputed stint was in Boston Celtics in 2019. It was the same year he got selected for the All-NBA Third Team. Now, he ventures into new territory as he prepares to make his EuroLeague debut, bringing his skills and expertise to the old continent.

Victor Wembanyama comments NBA vs EuroLeague

Victor entered as the #1 pick in the 2023 draft. With the responsibility to back up his skills, he also has to live up to people’s expectations of being one of a kind player. Almost every time a European prospect joins the NBA, people ask the same questions. The focus is always on whether the player can handle the game’s physicality. Similar concerns were raised about Victor Wembanyama.

Wemby’s first game added weight to these questions, as he could not assert a strong foothold in the game. Additionally, he was caught in a not-so-pleasing side of an alley-oop poster.

Despite a slow start, Victor got comfortable on the NBA hardwood, recording a 27-point, 12-rebound double-double with 3 blocks in his second Summer League Game.
