When Tristan Thompson tested positive for ibutamoren and SARM LGD-4033 in January, the Cleveland Cavaliers were the second seed in the east. Thompson’s violation of the anti-drug policy of the NBA resulted in him landing in hot water, at a crucial point for the Cavs. While his 25-game absence (with no pay), didn’t cause much of a stir, as Cleveland is just one game behind the Milwaukee Bucks, they have lost their second position.

Now, Thompson returns from his exile shortly after celebrating his 33rd birthday. While the 2016 NBA champion wasn’t far from the team attending film and practice sessions, it will be the first time he’ll see on-court action in weeks. So, taking to Cleveland.com Tristan reflected on his absence and on returning to the hardwood floor.

“Thank God they went by quick,” said Thompson, who seemed eager to join back with his team. Moreover, the veteran Forward’s will to play the game almost led him to the brink of another mishap, “We had a lot of games in March so that was good. I thought about sneaking into the arena a couple times, but I didn’t want to get in any more trouble.”

“I held myself accountable, At the end of the day, you have to lead through the good times and bad times. Whether you’re in the right or wrong, you always lead, and you can’t waver. I had to show the guys that’s how it is in Cleveland. We take accountability. We hold ourselves to a high standard. If we fall, we have to get back up,” said Thompson in the end. Interestingly, the suspension has been lifted just after his birthday, making it a great birthday present. Moreover, he also received the well wishes of his ex Khloe Kardashian before stepping on the court again.

When Tristan Thompson got a birthday bonus

Despite their split more than two years ago, Khloe Kardashian expressed affectionate sentiments towards her ex, with whom she co-parents daughter True, aged 5, and son Tatum, aged 19 months, on his 33rd birthday on March 13. Sharing an Instagram Stories post featuring Tristan unwrapping a gift seemingly from their children, Khloe wrote, “Happy birthday @realtristan13.”

In the family photo, the Cleveland Cavaliers athlete sat on the floor holding Tatum, while True sat opposite him, gleefully assisting in opening a white gift box filled with black tissue paper. Khloe’s generosity extended beyond mere words. She also posted a separate picture of Tristan and his 17-year-old brother Amari Thompson, whom the NBA player has been supporting since their mother Andrea Thompson’s untimely passing last year. Now after a positive 33rd birthday and getting back in the team is Thomsposn going to stay out of trouble?
