3-Time NBA Sixth Man of the Year Winners Jamal Crawford and Lou Williams Join Hands for Ultimate NBA Honor

Jamal Crawford and Lou Williams have bagged the coveted NBA Sixth MoY Award most times in the league’s history. With three wins each, they rank high on the list of the NBA’s best sixth men. While both the ballers never joined forces on the court during their careers, they did band together for a Twitter tizzy yesterday.

The league’s finest sixth men glaringly owned up to their titles as they deemed themselves worthy of a greater NBA honor. As a result, the veteran stars blatantly confessed their feelings about the upcoming Naismith Hall of Fame enshrinement and their desperate want for a nomination.

This year, the NBA Hall of Fame (HOF) enshrinement ceremony will be held on Saturday, August 12 in Springfield, Massachusetts. The Class of 2023, who will be honored this year, includes big names like Dirk Nowitzki, Tony Parker, and Dwyane Wade. While for some, playing in the NBA league is an honor in itself. While others are always aiming for the stars.

The team is never complete without the sixth man. And they too deserve a special place in the Naismith Hall of Fame. Despite being NBA’s most consistent sixth man, Crawford nor Williams has been nominated for the HOF honor.

Yesterday. Crawford replied to a Tweet that suggested that Jamal Crawford and Lou Will should be inducted into the Naismith Hall of Fame together with an “It’s only right @TeamLou23

Is Lou Williams or Jamal Crawford a HOF-worthy player?

Following J Crossover’s tweet, Williams chimed, “Couldn’t agree more”. This isn’t the first time Lou Williams has openly talked about getting inducted into the Hall of Fame. The 32-year-old Tennessee Native has always considered himself the top contender to own a unique HOF case. When playing for the Los Angeles Clippers, Paul George also endorsed Lou Williams for the HOF several times during podcasts and interviews.

While the contributions of Crawford and Lou Williams to their respective teams cannot be undermined, they haven’t really won any other accolades except the 6th MoY Award.

When was Michael Jordan Inducted into The Basketball Hall of Fame?

For instance, take Manu Ginóbili, who also won the 6 MoY Award in 2008. In April 2022, Ginóbili was announced as a Hall of Fame inductee. However, this happened because, along with his 6th MoY Award, Ginóbili also had his 4 championship wins and the 2x NBA All-star titles to further back his talent.

While all players are worthy of appreciation, we can make an argument that some players deserve greater praise than others based on their merit. Jamal Crawford and Lou Williams can certainly hope for a HOF case, but only the Hall of Fame honor is reserved for those who are truly the best!
