The Detroit Pistons continue on their journey, with their next destination in Minnesota tonight, as they take on the Timberwolves. Detroit is currently sitting on the league’s worst record this season at 12-60, losing 7 games, straight. On the other end, the T-Wolves stand at a 49-22 record and are in a direct battle against OKC and Nuggets to gain the top spot in the West Conference.

The most recent loss for the Pistons was against the Knicks, 124-99 at the Madison Square Garden; and as for the Wolves, they have been winning back to back, with the most recent one against the GSW, 114-110. It was a sheer success, especially for Anthony Edwards, who scored 23 points and 8 assists, and Rudy Gobert with 17 points and 12 rebounds. The last time Pistons and Wolves collided, T-Wolves won over them, 124-117 at the Little Caesars Arena. It remains to be seen what’s going to happen tonight, especially with Edwards and Gobert’s recent powerful performance.

Rudy Gobert has been a defensive anchor for the Timberwolves this season. Recently returned from a three-game absence because of a left rib sprain. While he played in the match against the Cleveland Cavaliers, Gobert remains “questionable” for tonight’s matchup against the Detroit Pistons because of a left rib sprain. Gobert has already played 65 matches this season. Missing games could jeopardize his chances of winning his fourth Defensive Player of the Year award, where he’s currently the frontrunner, averaging 13.6 points this season and 12.6 rebounds this season. On the other hand, Anthony Edwards is averaging 27.0 points, 7.4 rebounds, and 5.7 assists in the last 10 games. In his last game as well, despite a middle finger injury, he managed to score 23 points, 8 assists, and 6 rebounds in just 38 minutes. He injured his left hand’s finger in the dazzling dunk on Jazz’ John Collins earlier. Because of the same reason, fourth time in a row, Edwards is again “questionable” to show up to play tonight.

Apart from Edwards and Gobert, Karl-Anthony Towns remains “out” for the matchup and then again, Jaylen Clark seems to be out still, indefinitely because of his Achilles injury.

Predicted Lineups: Timberwolves vs Pistons

Timberwolves are currently 3rd seeded team in the Western Conference and remain to be in great form so far, winning 49 of their games so far this season. Their home record has been impressive at 25-9. In fact, their winning percentage stands at a whooping .690. Defensively, they’re unstoppable and tonight as well, we can expect fireworks from the Wolves. This is what their starting lineup can look like: Mike Conley, Anthony Edwards, Jaden McDaniels, Naz Reid, Rudy Gobert.

On the other hand, the Pistons are ranked last in the Eastern Conference. They have won only 2 matches out of their last 10 games. And they are on 7 game losing streak. The Pistons’ away record has been bad, standing at 7-38. Per game, their points average at 111.1, which is 24th overall in the league right now. This is what their starting lineup can look like: Marcus Sasser, Jaden Ivey, Troy Brown Jr., Chimezie Metu, and James Wiseman.
