On his return game, Draymond Green played only 21 minutes, dropping 4 points with 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Considering the impact that he brings to the table, it was an underwhelming gameplay. The 33-year-old star himself acknowledged that during the after-game press conference.

In his statement, Green said, “Awful the first, felt like the game was moving way too fast for me… I was tired as hell.” Even though it is usual to feel rusty in the opening game, fans couldn’t accept this kind of statement coming from the power forward. However, he followed it up a positive statement. He added, “In the second half, I felt a lot better. Felt like the game started to slow down.”

Moreover, he highlighted the number of turnovers he caused in the first half and he revealed that he felt good after gaining control in the second half. Notably, Green caused 4 turnovers, the most in the team.

Considering the Warriors’ poor on-the-road record in the previous season, the team won both road games on a high. The Dubs had an 11-30 road record last season, which almost kept them away from the playoffs. In the Sunday night game, Stephen Curry led the team with 24 points, supported by his Splash brother, Klay Thompson with 19 points, to take home a 106-95 victory. Next up, the Warriors face the New Orleans Pelicans, with Zion Williamson in red-hot form.
