Atlanta Hawks star Trae Young runs past legend Magic Johnson. Ever since the Hawks acquired Young, the star has been beating the odds and producing miraculous numbers. In the same vein, he went on a historic stretch and went past the Los Angeles Lakers legend. The 25-year-old point guard registered 5+ assists in 155 games in a row and broke the third-longest streak set by Magic.

Legend John Stockton of Utah Jazz holds the record for the longest streak with 336 games. Notably, Stockton also holds the record for most 5+ assists with 1,382 games, along with the crown for the all-time assist leader with 15,806 assists.

Meanwhile, Trae Young has also come up in similar ranks. He currently holds the record for most assists in this season with 512 assists. Speaking of the stats, Young dropped a post on his X handle, which read, “I know my Grandpa looking down on me smiling.. knowing we far from finished.”

The post is proof that the 25-year-old would go for John Stockton’s all-time record in the seasons to come. Moreover, Young has been on a roll ever since his All-Star snub. Even NBA superstar LeBron James came to his aid, dropping a bold post that directly took a shot at the league.

Even though Young didn’t respond directly to the snub, he spoke through his performance on the court. The star dropped 32 points to take down the mighty Phoenix Suns for a 129-120 win. Following the game, he took to his IG, dropped pictures from the game, and wrote, “Born a Star, still a Star.. Always will be a Star #WeMove.”
