Year 22 for LeBron James but the appetite is the same. The 4-time champion has made his hunger for the fifth title crystal clear to all. So, he is making sure to not replicate a disastrous beginning like last season. When he heard Tyrese Haliburton spilling Stephen Curry’s secret recipe for success, LeBron probably took note of it. While it didn’t work out for the Pacers’ guard, the 39-year-old nailed it. Like they say, “One man’s loss is another man’s gain.”

After hammering the Kings 131-127, LeBron revealed what helped him gain the energy at 39 to put forth such pristine play. “Sleep, hydration, and, good food,” he said in a postgame interview. LeBron further stated that he went back home after the game against the Suns and immediately slept. “Took 2 naps today. I ate some really good food, gave me nutrition, and, and I was hydrating all day.” Lebron concluded by saying that his teammates and the crowd also gave him the energy to keep going.

Does Lebron’s napping part sound familiar? For those who are unaware, Curry told the same thing to Haliburton during their time in the Paris Olympics. Post his disastrous 3-point shooting in the Pacers vs Piston game, the 24-year-old disclosed that he had followed the Warriors leader’s pregame napping routine, which resulted in just one successful shot out of nine attempts.

“He (Curry) convinced me to try out pre-game naps because I told him I don’t nap and he told me to try it out and text him after the game and see the result. So he’ll be getting a text from me shortly. No more pre-game naps for Tyrese,” Haliburton told IndyStar after jokingly blaming Steph for the failure experiment. However, it seemed to have worked for LeBron, who had a 44.4% success rate from beyond the arc and 54.5% from the field.

Although the Lakers ultimately emerged as winners, the Sacramento side had taken the lead in the third quarter, making it hard for the LA squad. But LeBron stepped in and rescued the team in the most LeBron-esque fashion.

LeBron James talks about his final quarter masterclass that saved the Lakers’ night

By the end of the third quarter, when De’Aaron Fox‘s two 3-pointers gave the Kings a 7-point lead, LeBron unleashed the beast inside him and showed why he is the “Chosen 1”. The 20-time All-Star entered the court in the fourth quarter and scored 16 points in around three minutes, entertaining the Crypto.com Arena crowd in the best possible way. He finished the night with 32 points, 10 flashy assists and 14 rebounds.

“Those two, Fox threes at the end of the third was, was bad for us,” LeBron said in the post-game interview. “You know, we cut it to a one-point lead, and we had a couple of shots that we could’ve took our time a little bit better, and we didn’t close the quarter out right.” After praising his teammates for contributing to his buckets, he added, “I kept finding my shot, being aggressive, and, I was able to help us, you know, take that lead in that four.”

Despite the loss, Fox had high praise for LeBron. In the post-game press conference, the guard stated, “What he’s done in this league, throughout his entire career has been amazing. And, what he’s doing right now still, you know, in year 22, will probably never be replicated again.”

The only thing that is being replicated is LeBron’s greatness on the court year after year. At least Curry can expect to receive a better text from LeBron. After their summer link-up, we can anticipate some more pro secrets to be revealed in the course of the season.
