Listen up! Ja Morant has something to say. The Memphis Grizzlies guard took to his X to share a few words of wisdom with his followers. The Grizzlies highly expected his return to court after missing a huge chunk of the games this season due to his actions this May. It can be argued that most of Morant’s obstacles are repercussions for his own actions. But that does not mean he cannot share his wisdom, either. After all, one gains wisdom from one’s own experiences.

The 24-year-old spoke about hardships and setbacks, adding, be grateful even for the hardship, setbacks, & bad people. dealing with such obstacles is an essential part of training in the Art of Peace.” It looks like he is quoting the book Art of Peace by Morihei Ueshiba. In it, Ueshiba shares his philosophies and teachings for a person to become a warrior who will be compassionate, wise, fearless, and harbors a love of nature.

Ja Morant chose to take the wrong path this May when he brandished a firearm via a live stream. The NBA suspended him for 25 games without pay for conduct detrimental to the league. Morant is set to join the Grizzlies on December 19th when his suspension ends. What remains to be seen is if he has learned from his mistakes.

Morant’s absence has left the Memphis Grizzlies severely shorthanded. Currently, they hold the fourteenth position in the Western Conference with just three wins from fifteen games. Besides Ja Morant, they also do not have Marcus Smart, Brandon Clark, and Steven Adams due to injuries. Veteran Derrick Rose could not deliver consistent performances. As these woes keep piling up, it seems like the Grizzlies are also desperate to see their All-Star guard return.

After Friday’s loss against the Phoenix Suns, Rose shared the reasons for their struggles, adding, “Just communicating… I don’t know when it’s gonna actually resonate, but if we’re not gonna talk on the defensive end, there’s no way in hell we’re gonna win these games. That’s just honestly speaking. Communication is huge in this league, especially on this level.” It still remains to be seen how his teammates are taking his observations.
