The Denver Nuggets seem to have hit a rough spot. After grinding out a not-so-convincing win against the Warriors, they were defeated by the Rockets today. It turns out the first seed in the Western Conference couldn’t resist the firepower of Fred VanVleet and Alperen Sengun. The Toyota Center witnessed the “Yay’s and Boo’s” on Saturday night while Baby Jokic went full-throttle against Nikola Jokic.
Tari Eason was coming off the bench and assisted the team in putting up a stellar defense against the reigning champion. He also made an intriguing comment about Sengun in a post-match interview.

Tari Eason mouths some magical words for Alperen Sengun
After the power play and stellar baskets against the Joker, Alperen Sengun added 23 points, and the Rockets extended their winning streak to a massive six tonight. With a score of 107-104, the Rockets dominated with Fred VanVleet, Sengun, and Jeff Green contributing the most points. Starting the first quarter with a two-point driving shot, the Turkish center received appreciation from Tari Eason.
Tari Eason during Alperen Sengun’s Postgame interview:
“Big wizard. Big Harry Potter.” 😂

Post the victory, T. Eason echoed, “Big Wizard, Big Harry Potter,” while Sengun was engrossed in interacting with an interviewer. Alperen Sengun indeed inhibits the quality of a good passer and defender and has worked on his skills as compared to the previous two seasons. Maintaining health has a larger role to play for the center to initiate an outstanding start to the 2023–24 season.
After Baby Jokic sealed the game against his idol, there’s no doubt that the Rockets have evolved after the major setback last season.

Alperen Sengun vs. the defending champions
Winners of back-to-back NBA championships in 1994 and 1995, the Rockets seem to be back in form with six consecutive wins. After defeating the Sacramento Kings, the aging Lakers, and the Pelicans, the No. 4 team in the Western Conference is probably the most interesting in the league.
What adds to this claim is the “not-so-old” roster, which is sometimes deemed to be half-baked until 2026. After acquiring nine first-round draft picks in the past three drafts, the Rockets are inching towards a pedestal where they can reign to be more relevant again. However, to reach the basketball mountaintop, the team has to witness top-notch games from Jalen Green, Fred VanVleet, Alperen Sengun, and many more.
