JJ Reddick points out flaw in Kyrie Irving camp

The Mavericks cracked a three-way trade with Grant Williams in the offseason for $54 million. Williams played a major role in the Boston Celtics‘ defense in the last few years. However, the 24-year-old star’s role seems to change in the Mavericks roster as JJ Redick laid down his views in the latest episode of The Old Man & the Three Things.

Redick pointed out the downside in the recent trade. He said, “He’s [Williams] maybe playing more… as a pick and popper like getting more in more two-man games with Luke and Kyrie and making plays… I think I’m about Maxi Kleber there’s some some redundancy there.”

He further pointed out the absence of rim protector in the roster: This is a major major signing and I think Grant is fantastic… Where is the rim protection on this roster?”
