“It was like every season, I felt we were right there — but there was this one missing piece. We needed a point guard. And I mean a TRUE point guard, you know what I’m saying? Turns out…… we got the truest,” said Indiana Pacers star Myles Turner recently in praise of Tyrese Haliburton. Gone are the days when this individual was being named amongst the most ‘overrated’ players in the league. Not only has the Indiana Pacers progressed well in the recent NBA tournament, under Hali’s leadership, but the 25-year-old only continues to raise his status amongst the NBA greats through consistent high performances that even break records. Now, to all Tyrese’s critics, he can proudly say that he stands on an accomplishment hill that only 2 other players had reached before him.

Tyrese Haliburton recently scored an impressive 32 points, 12 rebounds, and 15 assists to deliver a 3rd win against the New York Knicks in the Eastern Conference Finals. This score meant more than what some people might make it to be. After all, with it, the Pacers star now becomes only the 3rd player to ever record 30 points, 10 rebounds or more, and 15 assists in a playoff game.

The only other players to have achieved this feat before were Oscar Robertson and Nikola Jokic. And if that’s not enough, per X account, HaliMuse, it is also The only game with 30/15 on 0 turnovers in PLAYOFF HISTORY.” It is certainly a good day for all those supporters who have been with the player since the beginning of his NBA career, and who were waiting for such moments so that the ‘overrated’ tag continued slipping off the 2x All-Star’s back.

Add another scoop on top of that celebratory ice cream, because that wasn’t the only record Tyrese Haliburton set through his recent performance. The 25-year-old also finished the game with 15 assists and 0 turnovers. This makes it the most assists scored by a player, without a turnover, in the history of the NBA’s conference finals round. The previous record was held by Avery Johnson, at 13. Neither Magic Johnson nor Larry Bird could go further than 12. So yes, Haliburton can now boast about doing something that even legends like Magic Johnson and Larry Bird could not do.

Right from the start of the game, the 2x NBA All-Star showed that he was about to deliver something special. By the time the first half ended, Haliburton had recorded 20 points, 9 rebounds, and 10 assists. That combo had never been reached in the first half of a postseason game. Until now. Starting his record-breaking night with back-to-back made 3s set the tone at the home arena. After a defeat in Game 3, the star player did not want to take any chances. With that determination, he secured a 130-121 win. He also etched his name in the history books.

People are not wasting time in marking this achievement. Even Magic Johnson, whose record Tyrese Haliburton surpassed, turned into a beat reporter for a minute. He took to X and wrote, “Indiana Pacers star Tyrese Haliburton made NBA history tonight becoming the first player with a triple double and no turnovers scoring 32 points, 15 assists, and 13 rebounds. Indiana forward Pascal Siakim chipped in 30 points in the Pacers 130-121 win over the Knicks. The key to the Pacers victory is that they played fast all night long and wore Knicks down”.

What’s your perspective on:

Is Tyrese Haliburton the most underrated player to finally get his due recognition in the NBA?

Have an interesting take?

Perhaps Tyrese Haliburton woke up in the morning determined that he was going to make history. Or, maybe he was just influenced at the last minute by looking at all the trolling directed towards him.

Tyrese Haliburton got roasted by fans after arriving in a LeBron James-inspired outfit: “trying to be like everyone but himself”

Tyrese Haliburton was turning heads even before Game 4 against the New York Knicks began. However, the reason behind it got negative reviews from fans. After all, Haliburton arrived at Game 4 of the Eastern Conference finals, at Gainbridge Fieldhouse, wearing a long gray suit jacket and a pair of matching shorts. This was accompanied by some black shoes and a pair of black sunglasses. Haliburton was also carrying a bag that, from the looks of it, wouldn’t have come cheap.

Suit with shorts. Now, where has that been seen before? If you’re a longtime NBA enthusiast, then you would have certainly put two and two together. You would have realized that this was the same dress code LeBron James adopted for himself back in 2018. Things might have been different if the Indiana Pacers star had maybe adopted a style that was his. However, since he allegedly copied it, he had to face the brunt of the fanbase.

Soon enough, the comments section of the post highlighting the comparison between Haliburton and LeBron’s outfits was filled. One social media user wrote, “He trying to be like everyone but himself 😂”. Yikes! Another individual wrote “Truly the worst dressed human being I’ve ever seen”, while another wrote, “No aura”. As if the previous comments weren’t hurtful enough, one social media user wrote, “Why does his look like such garbage compared to LeBron’s lol”.

That wasn’t exactly the motivation one needs when looking to secure a 3-1 lead in the Eastern Conference Finals. Or, maybe it is. After all, if Tyrese Haliburton couldn’t impress people with his looks, then he could do it with his shots. That is exactly what the player did, and none of his critics will have any new ammunition to use against him in the long term.
