The NBA world turned into opinions galore after the Bronny James transfer revelation. Pundits across the hoops community dropped their take on the 19-year-old’s upcoming decision. While most argued that Bronny should play sophomore year, former Boston Celtics player Jeff Teague had an interesting choice. A choice that would entertain the Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James and his loyal fans across the globe.
In the latest episode of Club 520 Podcast, Jeff Teague joined the crew and spoke about James Jr.’s future. While they expected Teague to drop college names, he gave light to King James’ dream instead. He said, “Anybody with the last name James and the first name Bron, college basketball is just not for y’all bro.” Importantly, he stressed he wouldn’t be drafted in the first round.
But, “he’s gonna go undrafted to the Lakers or second round,” he continued. The whole media’s attention took over Bronny James’ college performances only after a particular statement from LeBron James.

The 4x NBA Champ had expressed his wish to play alongside his son in the same franchise before hanging his boots. James’ big dream looked believable at the onset, but it seemed bleak after his son’s freshman-year performance. After recovering from a cardiac arrest, James Jr. was fortunate enough to get back on the hardwood. But it was too late for the NCAA season.
The under-prepared youngster couldn’t match up to the heat and struggled, averaging 4.8 points per game. Despite the underwhelming record, Teague stood by his words and convinced others that he belonged to the big league. At the same time, he respected Bronny’s choice by saying, “Unless he’s like, ‘Damn, I need to be better. I need to showcase my skills more. I’m better than what I perform.”

It would be simple to answer that a son has to fulfill his father’s dream. However, in Bronny’s context, it’s a different story altogether. Many pundits have already dropped their opinions on it. Most recently, LeBron James’ best friend Shannon Sharpe hinted that Bronny should go against his dad’s wish. He said, “I think it would be wise for him to go back, and maybe he gets a clean bill of health”.
“And he is able to play 30 minutes, 35 minutes… Show us some flashes of athleticism”, Sharpe continued. Before stepping into college basketball, James Jr. had a reputation for his athleticism and orchestrating skills in high school, averaging 14.2 points per game.
