Several A-listers were out in Los Angeles for Kendrick Lamar’s ‘Pop Out and Show’ concert. It came amidst his standing feud with Drake. While he performed ‘Not Like Us’ (a Drake diss), the NBA stars marched the stage. Russell Westbrook, DeMar DeRozan, James Harden, and LeBron James were all bouncing to the popular tune, which is breaking the charts. Notably, James hasn’t spoken but about Drake since the infamous feud began. But while they sided with Lamar, Drake had one lone supporter who spent time with him.

Just three days ago, Kevin Durant was spotted in Drake’s mansion in Toronto. The duo shared a hookah as indicative of the Canadian rapper’s Instagram stories from that day. Well, that was only the start of their fun bash. Just like it is every year, billionaire Michael Rubin invited over 300 celebrities to his Hampton mansion to celebrate the 4th of July.

Drake was amongst those invited and was seen wearing the signature white attire which is a necessity at Rubin’s yearly fiesta. Kevin Durant also made an appearance at the party as reported by TMZ. While they didn’t come together, it does showcase the bond Durant shares with the God’s Plan artist as he sided with him through the darkest time of his career.

Other celebrities were also at the party including Kim Kardashian, Jake Paul, Megan Fox, Kendall Jenner, and more. Donovan Mitchell, James Harden, Tristan Thompson, and Kyle Kuzma were the other NBA representations invited by Rubin.

Drake and Kevin Durant weren’t friends to begin with

Ironically, Durant and Drake’s relationship didn’t exactly begin out of love. In 2019, the two were arch-nemesis. How? Well, the Toronto Raptors were in the NBA Finals with a chance to win their first title in franchise history. Facing them were the dynasty Golden State Warriors with an injured Kevin Durant.

After the Warriors won Game 2 of the series, the Slim Reaper was seen near the locker room trying to console Drake as his team had just lost. “Keep your head up, it’s all right. It’s OK. We have more games to play,” he taunted at the rapper as he exited the arena. Kevin Durant eventually played in the series, however, in his return game, he tore his achilles.

Putting their personal vendetta aside, Drake, being a gentleman, checked up on the 14-time All-Star. From there began the uncharacteristic friendship between them, with Drake even shouting Durant out in his song Weston Road Flows.
