Following the ugly physical act on the court, the league indefinitely suspended Draymond Green. Moreover, a recent report suggested that he could miss more than three weeks in the league. The Golden State Warriors, which has an underwhelming record two months into the season, 4x champs’ extended suspension could further sink the team in the deep waters. However, head coach Steve Kerr recently opened up about the team, adapting to the change.

With Green out the season for at least three weeks, Steve Kerr turned his attention toward some of the youngsters in the league. Notably, Jonathan Kuminga replaced DrayMagic in the starting lineup. Steve Kerr opens up about adapting to Draymond Green’s absence

Ahead of the Tuesday night game, Warriors head coach Steve Kerr addressed the press conference and dropped some of his hot takes. One of the reporters asked him about Stephen Curry and the team’s adaptation to play on the court without Draymond Green. Kerr took his time to give out a detailed statement on the Warriors’ games without DrayMagic.

He began talking about the camaraderie between Stephen Curry and Green, along with the ‘organic shots’ that the duo often produced on the court. Kerr also added, “It’s impossible to replace that. I think Steph definitely misses him. We all do.” He then went on to speak about how the players have to get used to playing without the power forward.

He added, “We just have to get used to playing without Draymond and experiment… Try to find the thing that are more successful.” Here is the video of the press conference.

In the absence of Green, the Warriors have already attained a rare 2-game winning streak in this season. The question is how far will the team go in his absence.

What are the details of Draymond Green’s suspension?

Following Green’s violent act on the court against Phoenix Suns’ Jusuf Nurkic, the league slapped an indefinite suspension. A few days later, Shams Charania reported that the star could miss three weeks as he was scheduled for counseling.

This decision was laid out by the NBA executive vice president and head of basketball operations, Joe Dumars. In his statement, he described Green’s repeated violent act as “repeated history of unsportsmanlike acts”, reported Sports Illustrated. 

Amid these struggling times, the star power forward has received overwhelming support from his superstar teammate, Stephen Curry.
