Even though fans don’t mind seeing their superstar in action, it’s an absolute risk. At least looking at the context of the game, Stephen Curry seems to be gambling with his health for a preseason matchup. After jamming his index finger in the game against the Sacramento Kings, the superstar is all set to return with just a one-game break. Nevertheless, the 4x NBA Champ will have his own reasoning behind his decision to lace up for the blockbuster preseason game against the Los Angeles Lakers.

Ahead of the game, Anthony Slater, a senior Warriors reporter, caught hold of Steph during his pregame routine and asked the million-dollar question. Why is he risking it all for a preseason game? Not the exact words, but he sure did get the answer for it. The Baby-faced Assassin confidently said, “Playing defensive, got caught up, I forget his name, got caught in his jersey. I can feel it (the injury), but I can play. I can’t reinjure it unless I do something crazy. So I’m fine.”

Coach Steve Kerr is indeed playing with fire. With Klay Thompson‘s departure, the Warriors’ dynasty is certainly hanging on a thin thread. Of course, the team has added valuable role players to the mix, but without Stephen Curry, it makes no sense. However, the injury update following the game against the Kings revealed that the X-ray results came out negative, indicating no damage.

On the other hand, Stephen Curry’s risk can be looked at from a different perspective. Are the Warriors still figuring out their starting lineups and rotations? Especially after the return of their trusted power forward, Andrew Wiggins.

Is Stephen Curry risking it all for Andrew Wiggins?

A thing that Steve Kerr has taken his time to decide- GSW doesn’t have a set starting lineup for the season yet. Of course, with a pool of talents like Buddy Hield, De’Anthony Melton, Jonathan Kuminga, Moses Moody, Brandin Podziemski, and a few more, it’s tough to leave out players. So Kerr said, “We’ve got a lot of work to do to figure out lineups. All the guys can do is compete, play their ass off.”

So, there are going to be multiple combinations going into the season, and we’ve already witnessed 4 of them. However, all these lineups missed out on a key player. That is Andrew Wiggins. After returning from an underwhelming season, the former No.1 pick showed promising signs with his fitness and attitude coming into the season. Unfortunately, ahead of the training camp, the hooper suffered an illness that’s just lingered for weeks.

It ultimately hampered his preparation leading up to the season, leaving him to work on his conditioning, again. Despite that, the star worked out with the team, wearing a mask and, finally, he’s expected to lace up for the Lakers game in Las Vegas. So, Steve Kerr has the opportunity to scale his starting lineup and Steph might have forced a push at his return to facilitate the HC’s plans.

What do you think? Why don’t you give us your Warriors’ starting 5? Let’s discuss this in the comments below.
